Today is like Christmas for NFL teams. Some teams will have their stockings stuffed with gifts, and some with coal. Until today, I have undertook the impossible practice of predicting the picks without trades. Today, I make an even more ridiculous prediction by trying to predict the trades that will happen in tonight's first round of the NFL Draft. Enjoy the craziness that follows. It'll make tonight seem rather tame. The Green means a team traded up to that spot, the pale red means the team traded down. All in all there were five trades predicted.

With talks to extend the current labor agreement stalled it's likely that the cap for 2006 will only be between $92 and $95 million meaning a lot of teams are currently scrambling to try and figure out how to get under that cap. The Rams, however, have only committed $84.5 million to players thus far and if Isaac Bruce restructures his deal and LB Chris Claiborne is released that figure will drop even more according to theSt. Louis Post-Dispatch. That's good news for fantasy owners of several Rams as there shouldn't be many new faces in camp or high-profile players cut and each player's role from last year will likely be similar to that seen in 2005. If a new agreement gets done the projected salary cap is expected to jump over $100 million which would allow the Rams to pursue some of the more high-profile free agents because their cap situation is so good.
