Today is like Christmas for NFL teams. Some teams will have their stockings stuffed with gifts, and some with coal. Until today, I have undertook the impossible practice of predicting the picks without trades. Today, I make an even more ridiculous prediction by trying to predict the trades that will happen in tonight's first round of the NFL Draft. Enjoy the craziness that follows. It'll make tonight seem rather tame. The Green means a team traded up to that spot, the pale red means the team traded down. All in all there were five trades predicted.

With RB Cadillac Williams and OT Luke Petitgout now out for the year with knee injuries, the Buccaneers will have nine players on their injured reserve list by the end of the week. Joining Williams and Petitgout are FB Mike Alstott (neck), WR Paris Warren (ankle), LBs Antoine Cash (knee) and Sam Olajubutu (Achilles tendon), DE Charles Bennett (knee), DB Sabby Piscitelli (foot) and OT Chris Denman (hand). That means the Bucs have already placed three members of their pre-camp offensive starting lineup (Williams, Alstott, Petitgout) on IR, and it's only the first week of October.

Here's a rare headline from the Tampa Tribune: "Gruden Is Speechless". It seems Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden has suffered a sore throat (a not-uncommon ocurrence as Gruden gets his vocal cords into shape in camp), and he probably will not be able to talk to the media on Monday until cough drops do their thing. For the vets in the Buc camp, it's a brief calm, as if the eye of a hurricane passes through before the inexorable winds return.
