Weekly Hitter Rankings: Rays will Shine

Weekly Hitter Rankings: Rays will Shine

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

It's a pretty busy week as eight clubs are scheduled for the full seven games with the other 22 playing six. The Braves and Tigers are home for seven while the Reds, Royals, Mets and Rays are on the road for their septets.

The Rays face, by far, the softest set of arms so look for them to have a big offensive week. The Tigers, Reds and Blue Jays also project to be among the highest scoring teams.

With respect to platoons, the Astros, Dodgers, Padres and Rangers line up to face a quartet of southpaws while the Mets presently draw seven right-handers.

Alterations to pitching plans mean changes in hitting rankings, so please check back on Sunday night for the update after the clubs firm up their rotations for the penultimate week of the season.

For the week, Sept. 17-23
