Weekly Hitter Rankings: Check the Schedule

Weekly Hitter Rankings: Check the Schedule

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

This lines up to be the wackiest week of the season. Not only is the July 31 trade deadline on Wednesday, quirky interleague scheduling renders unusual off days for clubs on Wednesday and Friday, so be sure to be aware, especially in leagues with daily moves.

The added off days leave 20 teams with six games with five playing seven (Braves, Red Sox, Dodgers, Reds and Blue Jays) with five clubs only playing five games (Athletics, Rays, Cardinals, Mariners and Rangers).

Not only do the Dodgers have four games, the first three are in Coors Field setting them up for a productive week. The Giants return to Colorado to end the week. It wasn't long ago San Francisco crushed Rockies pitching in a record-setting four-game set.

Hopefully you know the drill by now. Changes to pitching plans also affect hitting, so please return Sunday night for the final rankings, though keep in mind with the trade deadline, things will be in flux all week.

For the week July 29 - Aug. 4.

KEY (100 neutral)

  • HR LHB/HR RHB - Average HR Park Factors
  • SB - Stolen Base Index
  • P LHB/P RHB - Opposing pitcher quality index
  • Runs - Runs scoring index
