FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Wednesday's NBA slate is a sizable one, with 10 games on tap beginning at 7:00 PM Eastern time. The players below come from all across the price spectrum, but they all stand out as options to target at their respective valuations. FanDuel's format only counts the eight highest scores in your nine-player lineup, so keep that in mind when making your selections.

POINT GUARD

Landry Shamet, PHI at WAS ($3,500): Shamet took advantage of a Wizards defense that ranks among the league's three worst Tuesday, pouring in a career-high 29 points. At just $3,500, it's worth locking in Shamet against the same opponent one day later in hopes of a repeat effort. If he doesn't work out, you just drop his score while maximizing spending ability throughout the rest of your lineup.

Derrick White, SA at MEM ($5,300): The latest solid player developed out of obscurity by the Spurs, White has taken his scoring to the next level with between 17 and 22 points in each of the past four games. He's also providing a nice baseline in other categories, with four-plus assists in seven of his last 11 games and at least five rebounds in four of his last eight. The Grizzlies are a tough opponent, but White should still be able to outperform his $5,300 valuation as San Antonio's starting point guard.

SHOOTING GUARD

James Harden, HOU vs. MIL ($12,600): Harden has the potential to thrive against any opponent, but the Bucks present an especially juicy matchup given their inability to defend beyond the arc. The Beard easily leads the league in both 3-pointers made (173) and attempted (448), with only Kemba Walker (barely) within 100 of Harden in the latter category. Meanwhile, Milwaukee gives up a league-high 12.8 makes from deep per game. With season averages of 33.7 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 8.7 APG, Harden will also give you much more than just marksmanship from deep.

Marcus Smart, BOS vs. IND ($5,100): Smart is trending in the right direction, having seen his fantasy point total climb in each of the past four games. An all-around contributor who doesn't rely much on scoring to provide value, Smart should shrug off a matchup with Indiana's league-best scoring defense and continue to build on the 3.7 RPG, 6.0 APG and 1.7 steals he's averaged over the past three contests. Owners looking to go against the grain with some of their picks should give Smart heavy consideration.

SMALL FORWARD

Brandon Ingram, LAL vs. DET ($6,900): While Kyle Kuzma is back in the fold, the Lakers are still without LeBron James (groin), so Ingram continues to fill some of the void left by James' absence. Ingram poured in 29 points in Kuzma's return Monday, topping 45.0 fantasy points for the second time in the past five games. He'll have a nice opportunity to eclipse that mark once again in this home meeting with a reeling Pistons squad that's lost five of its past six games.

Evan Turner, POR vs. CHI ($4,600): With Maurice Harkless out due to a knee injury, Turner's likely to move into the starting lineup against a hapless Bulls team with a 10-30 record. The last time Harkless sat out was Saturday against Houston, when the versatile Turner delivered 29.6 fantasy points in 30 minutes -- his third-highest minutes total of the season. A similar bump in workload should lead to even more production against this inferior opposition.

POWER FORWARD

Domantas Sabonis, IND at BOS ($7,000): Sabonis is in a groove, having scored 34.6 or more fantasy points in six of his past seven games while eclipsing 40.0 twice in the last three. That most recent success has come with fellow Pacers big man Myles Turner sitting due to a sore right shoulder, and Turner os listed as doubtful for this one. Likely to once again benefit from an increased role, Sabonis is primed for a strong showing against a Boston team that allows opponents to grab an above-average 54.0 rebounds per game.

Kenneth Faried, BKN vs. ATL ($4,500): Faried often finds himself glued to the bench, but he's a good source of points and rebounds when he plays, as illustrated by the 13 points and 12 boards he racked up Monday with fellow forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson sidelined by a hip injury. RHJ has already been ruled out for this one, likely creating an opportunity for The Manimal to thrive against a Hawks team that's giving up the most points and third-most rebounds per game.

CENTER

DeAndre Jordan, DAL vs. PHO ($7,800): Jordan's capable of a double-double with some hustle stats sprinkled in on any given night, which is the formula he's used to top 42.0 fantasy points in three of his past six games and six of his last 13. The Suns rank among the six most generous teams in terms of both points and rebounds allowed, so Jordan should have no trouble racking up another double-double here. Jordan could also see more of the scoring load shifted his way with standout rookie Luka Doncic battling a lower-back strain.
