DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

If you're out of your football championship like me, we've got a four-game NBA slate available to target.

SLATE OVERVIEW

BOS (-13) vs. CHA O/U:  210

MIL (-8) vs. IND O/U: 220

LAC (-2) @ OKC O/U: 222

LAL (-3) vs. DEN O/U: 206

I've built a lot around the Clippers and the Thunder, and I'm also high on the number of revenge games afoot on the slate.  I gave virtually no love to Denver and very little to Charlotte today.

INJURY SITUATIONS TO MONITOR

LeBron James is doubtful to play with a thoracic muscle sprain. Although Anthony Davis also carries an injury tag, he is probable and will be the focal point of the offense if LeBron is out. Both Danny Green ($4,000) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($4,000) should see production increases in the likelihood LeBron is sidelined.

Kawhi Leonard (rest) DOUBTFUL

Since the Clippers are on a back-to-back, I expect it will be business as usual for Leonard, who routinely hits the pine on the back end of two games in a row.  Maurice Harkless ($3,600) and Lou Williams ($6,500) are usually the prime beneficiaries in this scenario.

Domantas Sabonis (hip) QUESTIONABLE

The seriousness of this injury is unknown, but roll with T.J. Warren ($5,000) if he misses out with both Justin Holiday ($4,600) and Doug McDermott ($3,600) also pitching in Sunday.

Gordon Hayward (foot) QUESTIONABLE

Hayward may be back today, but we'll have an answer closer to tip-off. Jaylen Brown ($7,300) has chalked up some great stat lines during Hayward's absence.

ELITE PLAYERS

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL ($11,000) vs. IND

With LeBron likely on the sidelines, Giannis stands alone with Anthony Davis ($10,100) in 10k-plus territory.  We don't want to plug in elites just for elite's sake. But on a slate this slim, you run into a tight spot if someone like Giannis ends up setting the pace for a winning lineup. I  think there are ways to exceed his potential total with two guys at $6,500, and including him will limit your exposure to guys in that range. I think I will split my rosters down the middle, with a Giannis add getting to 50 percent of my builds.

Paul George, LAC ($8,500) @ OKC

George only put up 30 DKFP in Revenge Game Part One, but his reception in OKC might be less than favorable.  I'm fine with taking on the intangibles in this matchup, so I will fire him up in a good number of lineups.

Kemba Walker, BOS ($8,200) vs. CHA

Walker also underperformed in his first meeting versus his old team. Kemba came back to Earth a bit against Detroit, but his overall resume over the past two weeks has been incredibly strong.  I think today represents a favorable spot to revisit the standout guard.

EXPECTED CHALK AND OTHER TARGETS

Chris Paul, OKC ($7,200) vs. LAC

Paul hosts his former team on Sunday. And while he's had several chances to play the Thunder since his departure, it's still a metric worth mentioning. With a 41.7 DKFP average over the past five games, Paul is performing a full five points over his normal season average and the Thunder will get an extra boost in playing the Clippers without Kawhi Leonard on the court.

Malcolm Brogdon, IND ($7,100) @ MIL

Just how many of these revenge-y games are we going to have today?  We're not done, as Brogdon will make his first trip to Milwaukee since being traded.  Brogdon's across-the-board production has held steady over the past two weeks, and I think he'll have an extra bit of motivation to post a good number against his former team. I don't want to load up this category with guards, so I'm just going to add Terry Rozier ($6,900) to this paragraph, as he ALSO gets a chance to redeem himself after his first game against his former team didn't go so well - he shot a pitiful 1-for-11 in that first contest.

Danilo Gallinari, OKC ($6,700) vs. LAC

Revenge! It's just happening all over the board - it's uncanny. Gallinari struggled against his former team the first time around. But, like Paul, he'll enjoy a bit more room as the Clippers will run without Kawhi Leonard. Gallinari's floor is a bit erratic, but he possesses the ability to pop in the 40 DKFP range in the right situation.

Montrezl Harrell, LAC ($6,600) @ OKC

Harrell exploded for 55 DKFP against the Thunder in their last matchup, so it seems apparent the big man has an answer for Steven Adams inside.   Even though Harrell regularly comes off the bench, he'll still get plenty of looks and should also have a decent day off the glass.

VALUE PLAYS

Myles Turner, IND ($5,100) @ MIL

If Domantas Sabonis doesn't play, give the green light to Turner, who put up a stellar 44 DKFP against the Bucks during their last matchup. Turner hasn't gotten the call from me at all this season, but he's provided a few value-beating numbers over the past couple of weeks - and you can't beat the situation if Sabonis sits.

George Hill, MIL ($4,800) vs. IND

A host of players have stepped up in Eric Bledsoe's extended absence, and Hill's seen more usage as the first guy off the bench with the second unit.  He doesn't have to do much at this price. But if he can get close to 30 DKFP, you'll get Hill at 6x value.

Lakers Value (various) vs. DEN

Anyone from Rajon Rondo ($4,300), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($4,000), Alex Caruso ($3,400) and a probable Kyle Kuzma ($3,500) are poised to make an impact in LeBron's absence. Kuzma comes in as the most intriguing option of the group. A sprained ankle has kept him out for most of the month, and today may be the day where we see a return to 2018-19 numbers. Playing these guys requires an extra look at the starting five before tip-off.
