Magic Dominate First Half, Cruise Against Cavaliers
The Orlando Magic defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 94-85, at Amway Center on Wednesday evening.

The Magic (1-0) hosted the Cavaliers (0-1) in the regular-season opener for both clubs, but it was clear the Magic were the better as soon as the game started. Orlando quickly jumped to a 28-24 lead after the first 12 minutes of action and they never looked back, although they did manage to increase that advantage to 14 points (55-41) by half-time. Cleveland showed some recovery signs during the third quarter and reduced the gap to six points (71-65) with only 12 minutes left on the clock, but Orlando closed things out with a strong fourth-quarter performance that saw them win the final quarter by three points (23-20).

Nikola Vucevic led the way for the Magic with 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of action. Evan Fournier chipped in with 16 points, four assists and three boards, while Aaron Gordon filled the stat-sheet after posting nine points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Terrence Ross had 10 points coming off the bench, while Markelle Fultz contributed 12 points and six assists in 23 minutes.

Tristan Thompson led the way for the Cavaliers with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double, and second-year point guard Collin Sexton also had 16 points, albeit with two assists on 33 percent shooting. Cedi Osman had 13 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Kevin Love had a monster game on he glass and finished with 18 rebounds while also adding 11 points and three assists.
