Clippers Topple Warriors In L.A.
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the host Golden State Warriors, 130-104, at Staples Center on Thursday evening.

The contest got out to a tight start, while the Clippers took a, 28-26, lead after one quarter. The Clippers turned it up a notch in the second, where they outscored the hosts, 31-17, to push their advantage to 16 points, by halftime. The Warriors had a rough time in the third quarter, as the Clippers outscored the hosts by 20 points in the quarter, expanding the deficit to 36 points, heading into the final frame. The Warriors put up a fight in the fourth and outscored the visitors by 10 points in the quarter, but it was too little, too late, as the Clippers held on for the home win.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals, in 31 minutes. Serge Ibaka totaled 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Paul George tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. The Clippers shot 45 percent from the field, including 18-of-41 from long range.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins was the high-point man for the Warriors, with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, in 28 minutes. Stephen Curry added 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block, while Jordan Poole added 14 points, four assists and three rebounds. The Warriors shot 43 percent from the field, including 9-of-36 from long range.

The Warriors (19-19) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Jazz on Sunday. The Clippers (25-14) take on the Pelicans in New Orleans on Sunday.
