Tyler Harvey

Harvey was selected 51st overall in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Eastern Washington. As a junior, he averaged 23.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 37 minutes per game. He was named MVP of the Big Sky Conference Tournament and led the NCAA in scoring average and three-pointers per game (4.0). The left-handed second-round pick shot a robust 43 percent from beyond the three-point line and 85 percent from the free-throw line. During summer league, Harvey provided 10.6 points, 2.0 assists, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.0 three-pointers in 17 minutes per game, proving he could transpose his insane shooting stroke by nailing half his three-point attempts from NBA territory. Harvey joins an organization littered with young talent, a brand new coach in Scott Skiles, and 13 players under guaranteed contracts. While his chances of cracking the rotation appear slim, the Magic's D-League affiliate, the Erie Bayhawks, offers a similar opportunity granted to last year's second-round selection, Devyn Marble.
