Herard has left the Maryland basketball program, the Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Herard lost more than 10 minutes per game of playing time between his freshman and sophomore years at Mississippi State, which eventually pushed the 6-10 center to make a move. Originally set to sit out for the first semester and rejoin the team after the midway point, Herald will now instead pursue professional opportunities. In his absence, look for Bruno Fernando to lock down most of the center minutes, getting frontcourt help from Ivan Bender, as well as freshman Jalen Smith and the recently-reclassified Ricky Lindo.
