Start vs. Sit: Who to Start, Sit Week 3

This article is part of our Start vs. Sit series.

START

Nate Scheelhaase, QB, Illinois - Many owners may be reluctant to start Scheelhaase after he only threw for 103 yards last week, but that would be a huge mistake. Sure, Illinois faces a ranked Arizona State team this weekend; but you can bet that Illinois will be throwing, and this Sun Devil defense can be beat (372 YPG). Scheelhaase is a must-start Saturday.

Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia -
Murray hasn't been living up to expectations this season, failing to eclipse 250 yards in Georgia's first two games. With the Bulldogs sitting at 0-2, and coach Mark Richt on the hot seat, you can guarantee that Georgia will want to make a statement against an inferior opponent (Coastal Carolina). The man leading the charge should be Murray, making him a strong play this week.

Fitzgerald Toussaint, RB, Michigan -
Toussaint missed Michigan's thrilling victory over Notre Dame last Saturday due to a shoulder injury. Reports are that he is healthy and will start this weekend against Eastern Michigan. Michigan will be riding high after its big win last week and should carry that momentum into this game. Combine that with the soft matchup, and Toussaint should be in line for a strong return to the lineup.

Aaron Pflugrad, WR, Arizona State -
Defenses have found it's as hard to guard Pflugrad as it is to pronounce his name. He scored four times in the Sun Devils' first two games. Illinois has a tough defense, but this matchup

Aaron Pflugrad, WR, Arizona State -
Defenses have found it's as hard to guard Pflugrad as it is to pronounce his name. He scored four times in the Sun Devils' first two games. Illinois has a tough defense, but this matchup looks like one that will be decided in the air. Get him in your lineups.

B.J. Cunningham, WR, Michigan State -
Most fantasy owners likely caught the highlights of the exciting Michigan-Notre Dame game last weekend. And One thing that likely stood out to all was the Fighting Irish's secondary lapses late in the game. Cunningham has shown he can regularly make big plays, and he'll most likely do so this weekend against a struggle Notre Dame defensive backfield. Make sure he is in your starting lineups.

Isi Sofele, RB, Cal -
Sofele hasn't topped the century mark since taking over for Shane Vereen as Cal's starting running back this season, but he should this week against Presbyterian. Sofele has that coveted breakaway speed and should have room to run against the Blue Hose defense.

G.J. Kinne, QB, Tulsa -
Kinne has looked good under new offensive coordinator Greg Peterson so far. This week, Tulsa gets No. 8 Oklahoma State in what will certainly be an offensive showdown. Look for Kinne to rack up a lot of fantasy points this weekend.

SIT
Marcus Coker, RB, Iowa -
Coker said he was "sore" after last week's 35-carry performance, and coach Kirk Ferentz has taken notice. Ferentz announced that he will be moving toward more of a rotation at running back to keep Coker fresh. Now, no one is going to sit Coker, he is too talented. This is more of a warning that his production may decrease if Ferentz does indeed limit his carries.

Vick Ballard, RB, Mississippi State -
Ballard has picked up right where he left off last season, running hard and scoring touchdowns (four through the first two games). This week may be a different story when he goes up against a stout LSU defense. Ballard is normally a must-start every week, but consider benching him for a running back with a softer matchup in standard leagues.

T.J. Moe, WR, Missouri -
Moe has been a slight disappointment through the first two games of the season, and despite his soft matchup against Eastern Illinois, do not expect that to change this week. It is starting to look like Moe's breakout last year was a product of Blaine Gabbert's passing. Not to mention that fellow wideout Jerrell Jackson returns this week and will cut into Moe's looks. Leave Moe on the bench this week in non-PPR leagues.

James Sims, RB, Kansas -
Sims has looked good through two weeks, but keep in mind his opponents: McNeese State and Northern Illinois. Sims is developing a reputation of taking advantage of weaker defenses and getting stifled by tougher ones. This week, he draws Georgia Tech, which should give him a tougher road to a good fantasy day. Consider other options at running back this week.

T.Y. Hilton, WR, Florida International -
Hilton has been on fire the first two games of the season, making him a must-start in most leagues. But this week will be a bit different as the Golden Panthers draw one of the nation's top-tier defenses. Bench Hilton against UCF this week.

Kain Colter, QB, Northwestern -
Colter has quickly garnered fantasy value since starting in place of the injured Dan Persa. And while Persa still hasn't been cleared for Saturday's game at Army, he could enter the game at any point (he was in pads on the sidelines last game). Unless Persa is officially ruled out prior to kickoff, do not risk a start on Colter.
