Head coach of Ohio State Jim Tressel confirmed Tuesday that Smith did not enroll in the second summer session at OSU, which began Monday, but still fully expects Smith to have his academics in order by the time preseason camp starts August 5, Fort Wayne.com reports.

It's been a rough week for Ohio State, as not only has wide receiver Duron Carter left to play football at Cofeyville Community College, but so too has defensive end Keith Wells been declared ineligible to play this year and Smith, OSU's highest-rated recruit for 2010, failed to enroll in the first summer session this Monday, ESPN.com reports.
