2018 Fantasy Outlook
Coming off a stellar freshman campaign in which he emerged from the pack to rush for 1,977 yards, breaking Adrian Peterson's freshman rushing record, Taylor enters 2018 unchallenged atop the depth chart. Taylor possesses a nice blend of power and speed, but he can struggle holding onto the football at times, losing eight fumbles last season. If he can quash those concerns and his offseason work to improve as a pass-catcher pays off, the sophomore could prove a true three-down workhorse and a trip to New York for the Heisman ceremony may be in the cards. Claims MVP honors in Pinstripe Bowl
December 28, 2018
Taylor amassed 205 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries Thursday in Wisconsin's 35-3 win over Miami (Fla.) in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Taylor reached 2,000 rushing yards for the season with an 11-yard gain on his first carry of the game and couldn't be slowed down from there, ripping off several long runs throughout the contest to pad his total. He ultimately wrapped up his true sophomore campaign with 2,194 yards -- the seventh-most in FBS history -- to go with 16 scores. Ball security remains something of an issue for Taylor, but as the bell cow in a traditionally run-heavy offense, he should open 2019 as the unquestioned top fantasy running back in the college ranks. Another 2,000-yard season is certainly attainable if health prevails.
