Jones started six games for Texas State last season, compiling 984 passing yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions to go with 402 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Shoulder injuries plagued him, however, and after possibly facing competition for the starting gig heading into the 2019 season, he'll instead join the junior college ranks to presumably play a bigger role. This development leaves Tyler Vitt as the likely starter for Texas State moving forward.
