Benzschawel played in 15 games and made four starts in his career but worked exclusively as a blocking tight end, registering no catches through his four seasons. A rising redshirt senior in 2020, Benzschawel likely could have successfully petitioned the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility in 2021, but it sounds like concerns about his health will prompt him to give up both years of eligibility. His absence leaves Wisconsin with little in the way of established depth behind top tight end Jake Ferguson.
