DraftKings LoL: Thursday Worlds Slate

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

GAMES (EDT)

Thursday's slate is weird because every team has to play three games and DraftKings made one slate where you have to choose certain teams to keep for all three games being played at Worlds. This is a unique way to make a slate ,so this article will be basically be my rankings on which teams to target.

1. Suning is going to sweep, and they should be the main priority on everyone's lineup. The game they played against G2 was a massive throw, as they were up 5K gold lead around 20 minutes with ocean soul until SofM played a little overly aggressive in team fights. Suning has looked dominant every game with their macro, and Huanfeng has averaged a 20cs lead over the bot laners in his group. The meta for Worlds has shifted heavily in favor of Suning because all year it was Mid/Jungle synergy but recently it has been the ADC-carrying team fights in games.

Prediction: Suning 3-0

Suning Players to Target: Everyone

2. Machi is currently 1-2 and the games against Suning and G2 they competed until the late game. Machi has been a surprise all tournament by taking down TL in Day 1, then coming back to match the early aggression from Suning and

Suning Players to Target: Everyone

2. Machi is currently 1-2 and the games against Suning and G2 they competed until the late game. Machi has been a surprise all tournament by taking down TL in Day 1, then coming back to match the early aggression from Suning and G2. They have scored decently in their losses, and this is a team to not sleep on. Machi will drop a game to Suning, but I believe with the right drafts and better team fighting they can beat G2 and TL. Machi has averaged three dragons per game, so their macro looks good, but their fights and jungle dive in different lanes to get a kill needs to clean up. If they can successfully secure the kills with a man advantage, they are smart enough to rotate and pressure side lanes to open up the map for added objective control. Even if we think they drop a game against G2, they can still score really well and are a solid piece for a one-off in most lineups.

Prediction: Machi 2-1

Machi Players to Target: Gemeni ($6,200), PK ($6,000)

3. G2 are third in my rankings, and they have the upside to be first in this group if they don't lose draft. If Suning didn't throw that game, realistically G2 would be 1-2. Their draft against Liquid was not good enough to punish the bot lane and the Sett/Orianna combo with graves auto-shoving Jankos in his jungle. G2's problem, aside from their drafts, is Perkz and Jankos have both under-performed, getting bullied against their opposition. G2 laning phase is what sets them behind, but they get gold leads by being proactive around the map and taking team fights when nobody expects it. G2 has had the same problems, and with the second round robin coming up, many other teams can catch up and punish their mistakes.

Prediction: G2 1-2

G2 Players to Target: Caps ($7,600), Mikyx ($5,600)

4. Team Liquid had an impressive performance over G2 and they finally drafted a comp that can lane bully while letting Broxah be aggressive to influence every lane. Liquid's draft before that has been normal scaling composition, and with how good the other three teams are in the early game they had no chance to come back in the mid-to-late. This was a rare occurrence when we saw Jensen pop off like that, but going into the second round robin, all these teams will have a better grasp on the meta and will overpower Liquid in all aspects of the game. As long as other teams draft and play to their win condition, Liquid will go 0-3 tomorrow.

Prediction: Liquid 0-3

Liquid Players to Target: CoreJJ ($4,800)
