Weekly Rankings: Week 6 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Update Complete

Bye Week: Minnesota, Tampa Bay

Here are our rankings for the coming week at each position to help you decide your starting lineup. Our rankings are based on the following scoring system: four points for a passing touchdown; six points for a rushing/receiving touchdown; one point for every 20 passing yards; and one point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards. Flex Rankings are for PPR leagues.

Typically, this article will be posted on Tuesday evenings, roughly around 7:00 pm PT. ***These are not draft rankings. They are solely for the given week of the season.***

I will update these during the week, usually twice per week to account for injury or other news during practice. The timing of those updates will vary based on the news at hand and my schedule for the given week. But the first of those updates usually won't happen until Thursday. At any rate, I will post a "last updated" note at the top of the article, or an "update in progress" note if it's while I'm doing it. If there is no such note, that means it's my first pass at the rankings for this current week.

By all means, if you want to discuss a rank, or want me to add a player, chime in on the comments. I try to be receptive to your feedback and try to respond to most comments, though on occasion the volume can be quite thick. Please refer to the rankings first when asking "should

7.*Russell Wilson SEA vs. Atl
Note: ***Left ankle and right knee are feeling much better following the bye week.***
8.*Andrew Luck IND at Hou
Note: (Shoulder) Limited practice Thursday. ***Once again, removed from the injury list later in the week.***
9.Aaron Rodgers GB vs. Dal

10.Blake Bortles JAC at Chi
11.Alex Smith KC at Oak
12.Brian Hoyer CHI vs. Jax
13.Carson Wentz PHI at Was

16.Brock Osweiler HOU vs. Ind
Note: Finally gets a cushy matchup against the Colts - really struggled in previous road matchups against the Pats and Vikes.

Note: Got knocked out last week with a rib and shoulder injury - status for this week uncertain, considered day-to-day. Full practice Thursday and is now slated to start Sunday. ***Kessler will start, Hogan will back up.***
30.*Case Keenum LA at Det
Note: Jared Goff could play if the Rams get 'way ahead or way behind' in future games. As Chris Liss says all the time, how bad must Goff be for the Rams to keep rolling Keenum out in lieu of Goff but for extreme game situations?
31.*Kevin Hogan CLE at Ten
Note: Promoted from the Browns' practice squad after the team released Charlie Whitehurst - might actually start this week.
32.Derek Anderson CAR at NO
Note: Though he averaged 9.9 yards per target, his fourth quarter interception in the end zone was just a killer.
33.*Josh McCown CLE at Ten
Note: (Broken collarbone) Could return to practice this week, though coach Hue Jackson wouldn't commit to him being game-ready. It's uncertain whether McCown is ready yet to be the #2 on Sunday - Cody Kessler will start.

14.Carlos Hyde SF at Buf
15.Terrance West BAL at NYG

Note: (Hip) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Listed as questionable but expected to play.***
18.Devonta Freeman ATL at Sea

23.Matt Jones WAS vs. Phi
Note: Lost a fumble and got stuffed on a big fourth down play - might start losing a few carries to Rob Kelley.

27.Spencer Ware KC at Oak
28.Chris Ivory JAC at Chi
29.*Justin Forsett DET vs. LA
Note: Signed by the Lions. All of a sudden he might be quasi-relevant again, with Riddick hurt. ***Will split carries with Zach Zenner, as Riddick is out and Washington is doubtful.***
30.*Jonathan Stewart CAR at NO
Note: (Hamstring) Worked out on the field Monday afternoon prior to missing Monday night's loss to the Bucs. Full practice Thursday - looks ready to return this week. ***Full practice again Friday, will play against the Saints.***
31.*Jeremy Hill CIN at NE

32.*James White NE vs. Cin
Note: On the field for 38 snaps - helped because the Patriots ran a whopping 80 plays.

48.Fozzy Whittaker CAR at NO
49.Josh Ferguson IND at Hou
50.Alfred Morris DAL at GB

Note: Coach Jay Gruden suggested that Kelley was 'deserving of more carries' - we'll see if that translates into more actual carries.
52.Kenneth Dixon BAL at NYG

Note: (Wrist/shoulder) Full practice Wednesday.
71.*C.J. Prosise SEA vs. Atl

Note: (Ankle) Full practice Wednesday.
73.*Dwayne Washington DET vs. LA
Note: (Ankle) Expected to return to action this week. Didn't practice Thursday, but worked out on the side. ***Listed as doubtful.***

Note: (Ankle) Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***Officially out.***
75.*Latavius Murray OAK vs. KC
Note: (Turf toe) Coach Jack Del Rio said he hopes to have Murray return this week - we'll bump him up if and when he practices. His replacements were somewhat disappointing against the Chargers, at least in the running game. Missed practice Wednesday. ***Ruled out again this week.***
76.*James Starks GB vs. Dal

7.*A.J. Green CIN at NE
Note: Got a rest day Wednesday, fully practiced Thursday.
8.Demaryius Thomas DEN at SD

9.Brandon Marshall NYJ at Ari
10.Doug Baldwin SEA vs. Atl
11.Jordy Nelson GB vs. Dal
12.*Julio Jones ATL at Sea
Note: Limited to just two catches on six targets, in part because the passes to Tevin Coleman were working so well, in part because Denver's defense is so tough on wideouts. (Knee) Did not practice Wednesday, expected to return back to practice Thursday. ***Full practice Friday.***
13.Emmanuel Sanders DEN at SD
14.Brandin Cooks NO vs. Car
15.Amari Cooper OAK vs. KC

31.Rishard Matthews TEN vs. Cle
32.DeVante Parker MIA vs. Pit
Note: Caught two passes for 70 yards, displaying his upside. But also lost a fight for another ball (admittedly thrown slightly behind him) that turned into an interception.
33.Cameron Meredith CHI vs. Jax

45.Nelson Agholor PHI at Was
Note: Seven targets, but only two catches for 27 yards in the loss to the Lions.
46.*Eli Rogers PIT at Mia
Note: (Toe) Full practice Wednesday - with injuries to Coates and Wheaton, all of a sudden his role becomes potentially very big.
47.*Eddie Royal CHI vs. Jax
Note: (Calf) Did not practice Wednesday. ***Didn't practice all week, still expected to play, much like last week.***
48.*Jeremy Kerley SF at Buf
Note: Really gelled with Gabbert - how well will it work with Kaepernick? (Ankle) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Full practice Friday, no longer on the injury list.***
49.Golden Tate DET vs. LA
50.*Sammie Coates PIT at Mia
Note: Suffered a hand laceration that required stitches and wearing a soft cast - forced to miss practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***It turns out he had more than a hand laceration, he also has a fractured thumb. Game-time decision.***
51.Michael Floyd ARZ vs. NYJ
52.Davante Adams GB vs. Dal
53.*Tyler Lockett SEA vs. Atl

71.Aldrick Robinson ATL at Sea
72.Torrey Smith SF at Buf
73.Breshad Perriman BAL at NYG
74.Brandon LaFell CIN at NE
