Weekly Rankings: Week 2 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Update complete

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out the rankings first before asking your start/sit question. This truly reflects my opinion in my leagues.

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm ET. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on

I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Quarterbacks

1.Lamar Jackson BAL at HOU
2.Patrick Mahomes KC at LAC
3.*Dak Prescott DAL vs. ATL
Note: Dak struggled against the Rams' pass rush on Sunday night - that doesn't look to be as big an issue this week at home against the Falcons. ***LT Tyron Smith (neck) is a game-time decision - not having him would be a big blow to the Cowboys' pass protection.***
4.*Matt Ryan ATL at DAL
Note: Ryan picked up right where he left off - throwing a ton of passes in catchup mode, adding all sorts of Garbage Time Production.
5.Russell Wilson SEA vs. NE
6.*Aaron Rodgers GB vs. DET
Note: Rodgers was perhaps the best surprise of the first weekend, throwing downfield more frequently and effectively in the past. Have he and the Packers' offense been revitalized, or are the Vikings that exploitable?
7.*Josh Allen BUF at MIA
Note: It's hard to nitpick when Allen had a career-high 312 yards, two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown, but he also left points on the field. He coughed up two fumbles in plus territory, and also missed a wide open John Brown in the end zone on a drive that resulted in a field goal. We'll see what happens when he faces a tougher defense - though that probably won't happen this week against Miami.
8.*Kyler Murray ARZ vs. WAS
Note: Showed a nice connection with DeAndre Hopkins, but struggled to get others in the passing game. But he more than made up for it with his legs, running for 91 yards and a touchdown.
9.Cam Newton NE at SEA
10.Deshaun Watson HOU vs. BAL
11.*Tom Brady TB vs. CAR
Note: Brady had a better fantasy performance than real life performance, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another. But his two interceptions were costly, particularly the pick-six in the third quarter that allowed the Saints to stretch out their lead. Great matchup, but he might not have Chris Godwin and Mike Evans still might not be at full capacity.
12.*Teddy Bridgewater CAR at TB
Note: Struggled a little throwing intermediate-to-deep routes, though he hit Robby Anderson nicely on a double-move in the fourth quarter that put the Panthers ahead.
13.*Joe Burrow CIN at CLE
Note: Burrow struggled at times, throwing a bad interception on an attempted shovel pass, but also led the Bengals on a two-minute drill that should have amounted to at least a game-tying field goal, but for Randy Bullock's calf cramp, or even a go-ahead touchdown, but for a shaky offensive pass interference call against A.J. Green. Better games are coming.
14.Philip Rivers IND vs. MIN
15.*Carson Wentz PHI vs. LAR
Note: The Eagles' offensive line was a mess in this one, allowing Wentz to get sacked eight times. He turned the ball over thrice on two interceptions and a fumble.
16.*Drew Brees NO at LV
Note: Just lost Michael Thomas for what appears to be multiple weeks. We might see a lot more Taysom Hill going forward. ***Moved up a few spots - other QBs are also missing options, and maybe he makes up for lack of volume with efficiency.***
17.*Daniel Jones NYG at CHI
Note: Jones held up reasonably well under a rabid Steelers' pass rush, but his two INT's were both huge.
18.*Ben Roethlisberger PIT vs. DEN
Note: Appeared very rusty early on, seemed to find his rhythm later and took advantage of good field position at times. Given a rest day on Wednesday, but back at it on Thursday.
19.*Matthew Stafford DET at GB
Note: Really missed Kenny Golladay as a deep option, but should have directed a game-winning drive late but for a drop by D'Andre Swift. Could be without Golladay again this week.
20.*Ryan Tannehill TEN vs. JAX
Note: Missed an open A.J. Brown at the end of the game for a potential third touchdown, but otherwise played well on Monday night. A.J. Brown might not play this week, and Corey Davis is still monitoring a sore hamstring.
21.*Jared Goff LA at PHI
Note: We've secretly replaced Jared Goff with Sam Bradford - let's see if anyone notices!
22.*Gardner Minshew JAC at TEN
Note: Incredibly efficient against the Colts, connecting on 19 of 20 passes for 173 yards. The Jaguars struggled to protect him, though, which in part explains his low number of attempts.
23.*Jimmy Garoppolo SF at NYJ
Note: Missed on a couple of critical passes in the loss to the Cardinals. George Kittle will be a game-time decision. ***Kittle is out.***
24.Kirk Cousins MIN at IND
25.Derek Carr LV vs. NO
26.Baker Mayfield CLE vs. CIN
27.*Dwayne Haskins WAS at ARI
Note: If you were expecting Haskins to take a big step forward from Year 1 to Year 2, his 178 yards on 31 attempts had to be disappointing.
28.Tyrod Taylor LAC vs. KC
29.Mitchell Trubisky CHI vs. NYG
30.*Drew Lock DEN at PIT
Note: Lukewarm performance in his 2020 debut, but at least he'll have a stronger matchup against the Texans.
31.*Ryan Fitzpatrick MIA vs. BUF
Note: Fitzpatrick will continue to start ahead of Tua Tagovailoa after his Week 1 stinker, but it's concerning that the question is already being asked.
32.Sam Darnold NYJ vs. SF
33.*Taysom Hill NO at LV
Note: If you can start him at a position other than QB, he could be a sneaky option - with Michael Thomas likely out, I think he'll be pressed into action more often than usual.

Running Backs

1.*Christian McCaffrey CAR at TB
Note: With the game on the line, of course the Panthers turned to their reliable workhorse ... Alex Amrah? Very confusing play call on 4th-and-1 for Carolina, but otherwise McCaffrey was fantastic.
2.Ezekiel Elliott DAL vs. ATL
3.*Alvin Kamara NO at LV
Note: Kamara's workload is only going to increase with Michael Thomas out, at least in the passing game.
4.Dalvin Cook MIN at IND
5.Derrick Henry TEN vs. JAX
6.*Saquon Barkley NYG at CHI
Note: Barkley really struggled on the ground against the Steelers. Will he find the going easier against the Bears this week, or is this a function of the failures of the offensive line.
7.Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC at LAC
8.Josh Jacobs LV vs. NO
9.Raheem Mostert SF at NYJ
10.Aaron Jones GB vs. DET
11.*Joe Mixon CIN at CLE
Note: The lack of a role in the passing game (one catch on two targets) is a concern, but this was a weird game flow, with the Bengals struggling against a tough Chargers defense. I have a hunch that isn't necessarily evidence-based that he'll be involved more often going forward. ***Caught four passes in the first half Thursday night, but failed to convert in the red zone and then was on the sidelines when the Bengals went into hurry-up mode.***
12.*Austin Ekeler LAC vs. KC
Note: Ekeler had only one target in the win over the Bengals, and ceded a goal line carry to Joshua Kelley as well. The receptions should pick up, but Kelley's prowess between the tackles is a concern.
13.Kenyan Drake ARZ vs. WAS
14.*Nick Chubb CLE vs. CIN
Note: Chubb suffered from an adverse game-flow against the Ravens, as the Browns fell way behind and used Kareem Hunt more often.
15.Chris Carson SEA vs. NE
16.*Ronald Jones TB vs. CAR
Note: Was the better back for the Bucs in Week 1, and should at least carry that over to Week 2.
17.*Melvin Gordon DEN at PIT
Note: Scored a touchdown and caught three short passes, but also lost a fumble. He could be very busy in Week 2 if Phillip Lindsay (turf toe) can't play. ***Lindsay will be out two-to-four weeks.***
18.*Jonathan Taylor IND vs. MIN
Note: Stepping into a starting role with Marlon Mack out for the season. He caught all six of his targets from Phillip Rivers in the loss, an encouraging sign for his future usage.
19.David Johnson HOU vs. BAL
20.Todd Gurley ATL at DAL
21.*Miles Sanders PHI vs. LAR
Note: (Hamstring) Workload will increase in practice this week. ***Cleared from the injury list, hopes to carry a full load.***
22.*Mark Ingram BAL at HOU
Note: I'm less concerned about the low workload in a blowout win than Ingram losing goal line carries to J.K. Dobbins early on in the game.
23.*Malcolm Brown LA at PHI
Note: Brown had a strong debut, carrying 18 times for 79 yards and two scores, and added three catches for 31 yards.
24.Kareem Hunt CLE vs. CIN
25.James Robinson JAC at TEN
26.*Tarik Cohen CHI vs. NYG
Note: ***Signed a three-year extension with the Bears late Saturday night.***
27.James White NE at SEA
28.*James Conner PIT vs. DEN
Note: Injured his ankle in the win over the Giants. Initial reports said that Conner avoided a high-ankle injury and that the Steelers would 'leave the light on' for him this week, but I'm pessimistic that he'll be available against the Broncos. Conner missed practice Wednesday but put in a full practice Thursday. If he returns to action this week, that may suggest that the Steelers will use a timeshare this week rather than making either Conner or Snell a 'bell-cow' back. ***Removed from the injury list, but he'll probably split carries with Snell. I like Conner nominally better than Snell, if for no other reason than he's more likely to be involved in the passing game.***
29.Devin Singletary BUF at MIA
30.*Latavius Murray NO at LV
Note: Murray handled the tougher between the tackles duties for the Saints last week, carrying 15 times for 48 yards.
31.*Nyheim Hines IND vs. MIN
Note: Scored twice and was already active in the offense before Marlon Mack's injury. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a 40 percent snap share with Mack out.
32.*Adrian Peterson DET at GB
Note: Peterson was the Lions' most effective back and even had three catches.
33.Sony Michel NE at SEA
34.*Benny Snell PIT vs. DEN
Note: Snell ran 19 times for 113 yards in relief of an injured James Conner on Monday night. He was only targeted once, however. Conner put in a full practice Thursday - it's possible that Conner could play this week. ***Conner is off the injured list, but he and Snell might share carries this week. I'm putting Conner over Snell, but my degree of confidence in their respective rankings is limited.***
35.Jordan Howard MIA vs. BUF
36.*Antonio Gibson WAS at ARI
Note: Got 11 touches, but Peyton Barber got more work, along with the goal line carries.
37.*Cam Akers LA at PHI
Note: Started and had 14 carries, but played only 24 snaps and eventually played less than Malcolm Brown, who looked the part.
38.*David Montgomery CHI vs. NYG
Note: Looked pretty good (13 carries, 64 yards), though it's a clear time share with he and Cohen, with Cordarelle Patterson also present to steal some touches.
39.J.K. Dobbins BAL at HOU
40.*Frank Gore NYJ vs. SF
Note: Gore is expected to start this week with Le'Veon Bell placed on injured reserve for at least three weeks. Chances are he'll share carries with Kalen Ballage and maybe Josh Adams, who saw work in Week 1. Officially the starter, and Josh Adams was moved back to the practice squad.
41.*D'Andre Swift DET at GB
Note: Swift had a killer drop on the game's penultimate play, and another bad drop on a swing pass in the fourth quarter. On the bright side, he had a tough catch in traffic earlier and scored at the goal line.
42.Jerick McKinnon SF at NYJ
43.*Boston Scott PHI vs. LAR
Note: Struggled to get going against the Football Team front seven. We'll see if Miles Sanders will come back to reclaim his starting role this week. Miles Sanders has had full practices this week and thus will likely play in Week 2, plus Scott was hobbled a little bit in his own right in Week 1.
44.*Leonard Fournette TB vs. CAR
Note: Fournette's solid role turned into five carries and one catch, and Ronald Jones was clearly the better back for one week.
45.*Myles Gaskin MIA vs. BUF
Note: Was the primary pass-catching back for the Dolphins and looked the best among their three backs.
46.Peyton Barber WAS at ARI
47.Zack Moss BUF at MIA
48.*Alexander Mattison MIN at IND
Note: There was some concern that Mattison would lose some snaps to Mike Boone, but that wasn't the case last week, as Boone was limited to special teams duties.
49.Tony Pollard DAL vs. ATL
50.Chase Edmonds ARZ vs. WAS
51.*Joshua Kelley LAC vs. KC
Note: Kelley looked really good, carrying 12 times in the second half for 60 yards and a touchdown. ***Justin Jackson is doubtful, making him the lone backup to Ekeler this week.***
52.Tevin Coleman SF at NYJ
53.Royce Freeman DEN at PIT
54.Corey Clement PHI vs. LAR
55.*Matt Breida MIA vs. BUF
Note: Disturbingly wasn't targeted in the passing game.
56.Darrel Williams KC at LAC
57.Carlos Hyde SEA vs. NE
58.Jamaal Williams GB vs. DET
59.*J.D. McKissic WAS at ARI
Note: McKissic had just four touches despite a 44 percent snap share.
60.Giovani Bernard CIN at CLE
61.*Chris Thompson JAC at TEN
Note: Thompson's name was hardly called on Sunday, with James Robinson dominating the Jaguars' snaps.
62.Rex Burkhead NE at SEA
63.*Kerryon Johnson DET at GB
Note: Johnson started the game, but was really ineffective (seven carries for 14 yards) and was a ghost in the second half.
64.Devontae Booker LV vs. NO
65.Brian Hill ATL at DAL
66.*Darrell Henderson LA at PHI
Note: Played only five snaps in the opener, and Malcolm Brown was effective.
67.*AJ Dillon GB vs. DET
Note: Had just two carries in win over the Vikings.
68.*Kalen Ballage NYJ vs. SF
Note: Added back to the active lineup now that Lev Bell is on the IR list.
69.*Duke Johnson HOU vs. BAL
Note: Originally week-to-week with an ankle injury, now considered day-to-day. Limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. ***Not expected to play this week.***
70.*La'Mical Perine NYJ vs. SF
Note: (Ankle) Status uncertain for Week 2. Doing some individual work and team drills, but not yet up to limited practice status yet. ***Limited again Friday, and Josh Adams was elevated back to the active roster for this week.***
71.*Anthony McFarland PIT vs. DEN
Note: Healthy inactive on Monday night, but could be active this week if James Conner (ankle) can't go.
72.*Darrynton Evans TEN vs. JAX
Note: (Hamstring) Full practice Wednesday, limited practice Thursday. ***Ruled out again this week.***
73.*Justin Jackson LAC vs. KC
Note: Day-to-day with a quad injury. More concerning for his long-term value, however, is that Joshua Kelley ran really well against the Bengals. Did not practice Wednesday. ***Listed as doubtful.***
74.*Phillip Lindsay DEN at PIT
Note: Lindsay suffered a 'mild turf toe injury' against the Titans and is awaiting the results of an MRI. He already had seven carries and a reception prior to the injury in the second quarter. Hasn't practiced yet this week - one report calls him to day-to-day, another suggests that he's out 'the next few weeks'. ***Officially out two-to-four weeks.***
75.*Le'Veon Bell NYJ vs. SF
Note: (Hamstring) Placed on IR for at least three weeks after aggravating a sore hamstring in the second half last week.
76.*Marlon Mack IND vs. MIN
Note: Ruptured his Achilles' Tendon and is out for the season.

Wide Receivers

1.Davante Adams GB vs. DET
2.DeAndre Hopkins ARZ vs. WAS
3.*Julio Jones ATL at DAL
Note: (Hamstring) Limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but still is expected to play. ***Removed from the injury list.***
4.Tyreek Hill KC at LAC
5.Adam Thielen MIN at IND
6.*Mike Evans TB vs. CAR
Note: (Hamstring) Limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but that tops last week's activity. Moreover, Chris Godwin is in the concussion protocol and hasn't practiced yet this week. ***Removed the injury list. Godwin is out.***
7.*Amari Cooper DAL vs. ATL
Note: (Foot) Added to the injury report on Thursday and was limited in practice. ***Cleared from the injury list on Friday.***
8.Calvin Ridley ATL at DAL
9.*Allen Robinson CHI vs. NYG
Note: Reportedly unhappy about his contract situation and asked for a trade. ***The Bears have turned down trade inquiries, and apparently are making progress in contract talks.***
10.*JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT vs. DEN
Note: (Knee) Given a maintenance day Wednesday, but returned to full action Thursday. ***Full practice again Friday, not on the injury list.***
11.Keenan Allen LAC vs. KC
12.DJ Chark JAC at TEN
13.*Robert Woods LA at PHI
Note: ***Agreed to a four-year contract extension, perhaps giving Allen Robinson a target?***
14.A.J. Green CIN at CLE
15.Terry McLaurin WAS at ARI
16.DK Metcalf SEA vs. NE
17.Michael Gallup DAL vs. ATL
18.Will Fuller HOU vs. BAL
19.Darius Slayton NYG at CHI
20.D.J. Moore CAR at TB
21.T.Y. Hilton IND vs. MIN
22.Tyler Lockett SEA vs. NE
23.Marquise Brown BAL at HOU
24.*Odell Beckham CLE vs. CIN
Note: Couldn't get going last week against the Ravens' excellent corners, and a bad drop on third down in the first half didn't help matters.
25.Cooper Kupp LA at PHI
26.Tyler Boyd CIN at CLE
27.*Emmanuel Sanders NO at LV
Note: Moves into the No. 1 role with Michael Thomas out.
28.Anthony Miller CHI vs. NYG
29.*Marvin Jones DET at GB
Note: The Lions look as if they'll be without Kenny Golladay again this week.
30.*Jarvis Landry CLE vs. CIN
Note: (Hip) Listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's practice. Here's your reminder that the Browns host the Bengals on Thursday. Landry is expected to suit up Thursday night, thus I'm bumping him up.
31.*John Brown BUF at MIA
Note: (Foot) Full practice Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. ***Full practice again Friday.***
32.*Corey Davis TEN vs. JAX
Note: At one point Davis's status was in doubt for Week 1 due to a hamstring injury, but instead he caught seven passes for 101 yards, perhaps benefitting from the extra attention A.J. Brown drew from the Broncos' defensive backs. (Hamstring) Has been limited in practice, but that's more activity than teammate A.J. Brown, who might have to sit out due to a bone bruise in his knee. ***Full practice on Friday, removed from the injury list.***
33.Stefon Diggs BUF at MIA
34.Robby Anderson CAR at TB
35.CeeDee Lamb DAL vs. ATL
36.*Diontae Johnson PIT vs. DEN
Note: (Toe) Sat out practice Wednesday, but practiced in full on Thursday.
37.*Scotty Miller TB vs. CAR
Note: ***Bigger role expected with Chris Godwin out.***
38.*Julian Edelman NE at SEA
Note: (Knee) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Listed as questionable but is expected to play.***
39.*Mike Williams LAC vs. KC
Note: (Shoulder) Not only played but was very active in the Chargers' passing game, as they attempted to avoid William Jackson III in coverage. Full participant in Wednesday's practice and feels 'more explosive' after recovering from last year's knee injury.
40.Parris Campbell IND vs. MIN
41.Russell Gage ATL at DAL
42.*Jerry Jeudy DEN at PIT
Note: Jeudy showed his upside as well as his rookie jitters, fumbling once and dropping two passes along with four catches for 56 yards.
43.Preston Williams MIA vs. BUF
44.*N'Keal Harry NE at SEA
Note: (Shoulder) Limited practice on Wednesday. ***Listed as questionable but is expected to play.***
45.DeSean Jackson PHI vs. LAR
46.Sammy Watkins KC at LAC
47.*Trent Taylor SF at NYJ
Note: ***Someone has to catch passes with Kittle and Deebo out.***
48.Marquez Valdes-Scantling GB vs. DET
49.Sterling Shepard NYG at CHI
50.*Courtland Sutton DEN at PIT
Note: (Shoulder) Unlikely to practice Wednesday, but coach Vic Fangio hopes that he'll be able to do more by the end of the week. Logged limited practices Wednesday and Thursday - he held up well so far, but is still viewed as questionable for this week. ***Cleared to play this week, but listening to ESPN's Stephania Bell, I'm wary of starting him but for a very deep league.***
51.James Washington PIT vs. DEN
52.*Adam Humphries TEN vs. JAX
Note: Could have a bigger role if A.J. Brown is out, or even if he's playing but limited.
53.*Jalen Reagor PHI vs. LAR
Note: Fully off the injury report.
54.Laviska Shenault JAC at TEN
55.*DeVante Parker MIA vs. BUF
Note: Parker aggravated the hamstring injury that was bothering him in training camp and sat out the second half last week. He'll begin this week focusing on rehabbing the injury. Very limited work, almost all on individual drills. ***Active this week but didn't do much in practice this week - my expectations are limited.***
56.*Brandon Aiyuk SF at NYJ
Note: (Hamstring) Held out last week, but could make his debut this week against the Jets. Deebo Samuel remains out, which explains why they signed Mohamed Sanu. Taken off the Niners' injury report, which suggests that he'll make his debut this week. ***Active this week.***
57.*Brandin Cooks HOU vs. BAL
Note: ***(Quad) Expected to play against Baltimore.***
58.*Henry Ruggs LV vs. NO
Note: (Knee) Briefly left last week's game against the Panthers but later returned. Missed practice Thursday - but keep in mind that the Raiders play on Monday night, giving him an extra day to recover. ***Limited practice Saturday, listed as questionable.***
59.Bryan Edwards LV vs. NO
60.Van Jefferson LA at PHI
61.Breshad Perriman NYJ vs. SF
62.*Tre'Quan Smith NO at LV
Note: Should be in line for an expanded workload if Michael Thomas is out for multiple weeks.
63.Christian Kirk ARZ vs. WAS
64.Hunter Renfrow LV vs. NO
65.Steven Sims WAS at ARI
66.Kendrick Bourne SF at NYJ
67.Mecole Hardman KC at LAC
68.Justin Jefferson MIN at IND
69.Allen Lazard GB vs. DET
70.*Chase Claypool PIT vs. DEN
Note: Two catches in his season debut, including a slick ball along the sideline for a 28-yard gain.
71.*Quintez Cephus DET at GB
Note: ***Got 10 targets last week and will get a similar snap share with Kenny Golladay out again.***
72.Kenny Stills HOU vs. BAL
73.Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. WAS
74.Keelan Cole JAC at TEN
75.Cole Beasley BUF at MIA
76.Willie Snead BAL at HOU
77.Curtis Samuel CAR at TB
78.Miles Boykin BAL at HOU
79.Jakeem Grant MIA vs. BUF
80.Mohamed Sanu SF at NYJ
81.Bisi Johnson MIN at IND
82.*Braxton Berrios NYJ vs. SF
Note: Could start if Jamison Crowder's hamstring injury keeps him out.
83.*Golden Tate NYG at CHI
Note: (Hamstring) Held out in Week 1 - you can't start him reliably until he at least has full practices. Limited practice Thursday, doing 'very little' during the open portion of the practice session. ***Limited practice all week, but is expected to play.***
84.Randall Cobb HOU vs. BAL
85.Isaiah Ford MIA vs. BUF
86.*Chris Godwin TB vs. CAR
Note: There was some talk of a concussion after the game, but nothing else surfaced later. Added to the concussion protocol after all and missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday. ***Ruled out this week.***
87.*Jamison Crowder NYJ vs. SF
Note: Crowder injured his hamstring in practice Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday. ***Ruled out this week - not currently considered an IR possibility.***
88.*A.J. Brown TEN vs. JAX
Note: Brown has a bone bruise in his knee and did not practice Thursday. It's potentially going to cost him multiple weeks. ***Ruled out this week.***
89.*Kenny Golladay DET at GB
Note: (Hamstring) Held out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday. ***Out this week but could return in Week 3.***
90.*Michael Pittman IND vs. MIN
Note: (Toe) Limited in practice on Thursday. ***Active on Sunday, but didn't practice Friday.***
91.*Alshon Jeffery PHI vs. LAR
Note: (Foot) Did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.
92.*Michael Thomas NO at LV
Note: Thomas suffered a high-ankle injury sprain that now appears to be worse than expected. Held out of practice Thursday. The Saints haven't yet confirmed that he's expected to miss several weeks due to his high ankle sprain. ***Ruled out this week, but it's healing quicker than expected.***
93.*Deebo Samuel SF at NYJ
Note: (Foot) On IR for at least two more weeks.

Tight Ends

1.Travis Kelce KC at LAC
2.Mark Andrews BAL at HOU
3.Darren Waller LV vs. NO
4.Zach Ertz PHI vs. LAR
5.*Jared Cook NO at LV
Note: Could be a big beneficiary of Michael Thomas's absence.
6.T.J. Hockenson DET at GB
7.*Jonnu Smith TEN vs. JAX
Note: Should get more targets with A.J. Brown hampered, at best.
8.*Austin Hooper CLE vs. CIN
Note: Should get more targets with David Njoku (knee) going on IR.
9.*Dallas Goedert PHI vs. LAR
Note: Very busy in the opener, catching eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
10.*Noah Fant DEN at PIT
Note: Looked superb in Week 1 with five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.
11.*Hunter Henry LAC vs. KC
Note: Caught five passes on eight targets for 73 yards.
12.Tyler Higbee LA at PHI
13.*Evan Engram NYG at CHI
Note: Rough start with a clear deep and another ball that he might have been able to come up with, catching just two balls for nine yards.
14.Mike Gesicki MIA vs. BUF
15.*Logan Thomas WAS at ARI
Note: Led the Football Team in targets, with four catches on eight targets for 37 yards and a touchdown.
16.*Rob Gronkowski TB vs. CAR
Note: Had just two catches on three targets for 11 yards.
17.Hayden Hurst ATL at DAL
18.Chris Herndon NYJ vs. SF
19.Irv Smith MIN at IND
20.*O.J. Howard TB vs. CAR
Note: Post-hype sleeper? Had four catches on six targets and scored in the loss to the Saints.
21.Ian Thomas CAR at TB
22.*Greg Olsen SEA vs. NE
Note: Caught all four targets and scored.
23.*C.J. Uzomah CIN at CLE
Note: Four catches on five targets for 45 yards in Week 1. ***Tore his Achilles' tendon in Thursday's loss to the Browns.***
24.Jordan Akins HOU vs. BAL
25.*Jimmy Graham CHI vs. NYG
Note: Had three catches for 25 yards and a touchdown and had the second-most targets for the Bears.
26.*Mo Alie-Cox IND vs. MIN
Note: ***Expected to start with Jack Doyle (ankle) ruled out.***
27.*Jordan Reed SF at NYJ
Note: ***Could get more targets and snaps with George Kittle out, but the Niners still might put Reed on a pitch count. Ross Dwelley might also be involved in the passing offense.***
28.*Dan Arnold ARZ vs. WAS
Note: ***Could get more targets with Maxx Williams out.***
29.Dawson Knox BUF at MIA
30.*Eric Ebron PIT vs. DEN
Note: Only two targets in Week 1.
31.*Gerald Everett LA at PHI
Note: Suffered a back injury that was deemed to be not significant. Did not practice on Wednesday. ***Officially questionable but expected to play.***
32.Darren Fells HOU vs. BAL
33.Ryan Izzo NE at SEA
34.Tyler Eifert JAC at TEN
35.Ross Dwelley SF at NYJ
36.Will Dissly SEA vs. NE
37.Robert Tonyan GB vs. DET
38.Jace Sternberger GB vs. DET
39.Harrison Bryant CLE vs. CIN
40.*George Kittle SF at NYJ
Note: Suffered a sprained left knee before halftime last week. While he gutted it out and played the second half, he didn't have any catches after the injury. Will not practice this week, but still could play if given medical clearance - normally I'd put him at the bottom of the position, but given the upside if he does play, I'm just moving him down a few slots - with the likelihood that your alternative at the position will still be available unless you have Hooper or Uzomah.
41.*Jack Doyle IND vs. MIN
Note: (Ankle/knee) Sat out practice both Wednesday and Thursday. ***Ruled out this week. Mo Alie-Cox will start in his place.***
42.*Blake Jarwin DAL vs. ATL
Note: Out for the season with a torn ACL.

Flex (RB/WR/TE)

1.*Christian McCaffrey CAR at TB
Note: With the game on the line, of course the Panthers turned to their reliable workhorse ... Alex Amrah? Very confusing play call on 4th-and-1 for Carolina, but otherwise McCaffrey was fantastic.
2.Ezekiel Elliott DAL vs. ATL
3.Davante Adams GB vs. DET
4.DeAndre Hopkins ARZ vs. WAS
5.*Julio Jones ATL at DAL
Note: (Hamstring) Limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but still is expected to play. ***Removed from the injury list.***
6.*Alvin Kamara NO at LV
Note: Kamara's workload is only going to increase with Michael Thomas out, at least in the passing game.
7.Dalvin Cook MIN at IND
8.Derrick Henry TEN vs. JAX
9.Tyreek Hill KC at LAC
10.*Chris Godwin TB vs. CAR
Note: There was some talk of a concussion after the game, but nothing else surfaced later. Added to the concussion protocol after all and missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday. ***Ruled out this week.***
11.Adam Thielen MIN at IND
12.*Amari Cooper DAL vs. ATL
Note: (Foot) Added to the injury report on Thursday and was limited in practice. ***Cleared from the injury list on Friday.***
13.Calvin Ridley ATL at DAL
14.*Allen Robinson CHI vs. NYG
Note: Reportedly unhappy about his contract situation and asked for a trade. ***The Bears have turned down trade inquiries, and apparently are making progress in contract talks.***
15.*Saquon Barkley NYG at CHI
Note: Barkley really struggled on the ground against the Steelers. Will he find the going easier against the Bears this week, or is this a function of the failures of the offensive line.
16.Travis Kelce KC at LAC
17.Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC at LAC
18.*Joe Mixon CIN at CLE
Note: The lack of a role in the passing game (one catch on two targets) is a concern, but this was a weird game flow, with the Bengals struggling against a tough Chargers defense. I have a hunch that isn't necessarily evidence-based that he'll be involved more often going forward. ***Caught four passes in the first half Thursday night, but failed to convert in the red zone and then was on the sidelines when the Bengals went into hurry-up mode.***
19.Josh Jacobs LV vs. NO
20.Raheem Mostert SF at NYJ
21.Aaron Jones GB vs. DET
22.*JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT vs. DEN
Note: (Knee) Given a maintenance day Wednesday, but returned to full action Thursday. ***Full practice again Friday, not on the injury list.***
23.Keenan Allen LAC vs. KC
24.DJ Chark JAC at TEN
25.Mark Andrews BAL at HOU
26.*George Kittle SF at NYJ
Note: Suffered a sprained left knee before halftime last week. While he gutted it out and played the second half, he didn't have any catches after the injury. Will not practice this week, but still could play if given medical clearance - normally I'd put him at the bottom of the position, but given the upside if he does play, I'm just moving him down a few slots - with the likelihood that your alternative at the position will still be available unless you have Hooper or Uzomah.
27.*Robert Woods LA at PHI
Note: ***Agreed to a four-year contract extension, perhaps giving Allen Robinson a target?***
28.A.J. Green CIN at CLE
29.*Mike Evans TB vs. CAR
Note: (Hamstring) Limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but that tops last week's activity. Moreover, Chris Godwin is in the concussion protocol and hasn't practiced yet this week. ***Removed the injury list. Godwin is out.***
30.Terry McLaurin WAS at ARI
31.Kenyan Drake ARZ vs. WAS
32.*Nick Chubb CLE vs. CIN
Note: Chubb suffered from an adverse game-flow against the Ravens, as the Browns fell way behind and used Kareem Hunt more often.
33.Chris Carson SEA vs. NE
34.*Ronald Jones TB vs. CAR
Note: Was the better back for the Bucs in Week 1, and should at least carry that over to Week 2.
35.DK Metcalf SEA vs. NE
36.Michael Gallup DAL vs. ATL
37.*A.J. Brown TEN vs. JAX
Note: Brown has a bone bruise in his knee and did not practice Thursday. It's potentially going to cost him multiple weeks. ***Ruled out this week.***
38.*Melvin Gordon DEN at PIT
Note: Scored a touchdown and caught three short passes, but also lost a fumble. He could be very busy in Week 2 if Phillip Lindsay (turf toe) can't play. ***Lindsay will be out two-to-four weeks.***
39.*Jonathan Taylor IND vs. MIN
Note: Stepping into a starting role with Marlon Mack out for the season. He caught all six of his targets from Phillip Rivers in the loss, an encouraging sign for his future usage.
40.*Benny Snell PIT vs.
41.Will Fuller HOU vs. BAL
42.Darius Slayton NYG at CHI
43.D.J. Moore CAR at TB
44.T.Y. Hilton IND vs. MIN
45.*Austin Ekeler LAC vs. KC
Note: Ekeler had only one target in the win over the Bengals, and ceded a goal line carry to Joshua Kelley as well. The receptions should pick up, but Kelley's prowess between the tackles is a concern.
46.David Johnson HOU vs. BAL
47.Todd Gurley ATL at DAL
48.Tyler Lockett SEA vs. NE
49.Marquise Brown BAL at HOU
50.*Odell Beckham CLE vs. CIN
Note: Couldn't get going last week against the Ravens' excellent corners, and a bad drop on third down in the first half didn't help matters.
51.Cooper Kupp LA at PHI
52.Tyler Boyd CIN at CLE
53.Darren Waller LV vs. NO
54.*Mark Ingram BAL at HOU
Note: I'm less concerned about the low workload in a blowout win than Ingram losing goal line carries to J.K. Dobbins early on in the game.
55.*Malcolm Brown LA at PHI
Note: Brown had a strong debut, carrying 18 times for 79 yards and two scores, and added three catches for 31 yards.
56.*Boston Scott PHI vs. LAR
Note: Struggled to get going against the Football Team front seven. We'll see if Miles Sanders will come back to reclaim his starting role this week. Miles Sanders has had full practices this week and thus will likely play in Week 2, plus Scott was hobbled a little bit in his own right in Week 1.
57.James Robinson JAC at TEN
58.Zach Ertz PHI vs. LAR
59.Tyler Higbee LA at PHI
60.T.J. Hockenson DET at GB
61.Jordan Howard MIA vs. BUF
62.Devin Singletary BUF at MIA
63.*Latavius Murray NO at LV
Note: Murray handled the tougher between the tackles duties for the Saints last week, carrying 15 times for 48 yards.
64.Anthony Miller CHI vs. NYG
65.*Marvin Jones DET at GB
Note: The Lions look as if they'll be without Kenny Golladay again this week.
66.*Emmanuel Sanders NO at LV
Note: Moves into the No. 1 role with Michael Thomas out.
67.*John Brown BUF at MIA
Note: (Foot) Full practice Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. ***Full practice again Friday.***
68.*Julian Edelman NE at SEA
Note: (Knee) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Listed as questionable but is expected to play.***
69.*Henry Ruggs LV vs. NO
Note: (Knee) Briefly left last week's game against the Panthers but later returned. Missed practice Thursday - but keep in mind that the Raiders play on Monday night, giving him an extra day to recover. ***Limited practice Saturday, listed as questionable.***
70.Stefon Diggs BUF at MIA
71.Robby Anderson CAR at TB
72.CeeDee Lamb DAL vs. ATL
73.*Jamison Crowder NYJ vs. SF
Note: Crowder injured his hamstring in practice Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday. ***Ruled out this week - not currently considered an IR possibility.***
74.Parris Campbell IND vs. MIN
75.*Austin Hooper CLE vs. CIN
Note: Should get more targets with David Njoku (knee) going on IR.
76.*Dallas Goedert PHI vs. LAR
Note: Very busy in the opener, catching eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
77.*Noah Fant DEN at PIT
Note: Looked superb in Week 1 with five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.
78.*Tarik Cohen CHI vs. NYG
Note: ***Signed a three-year extension with the Bears late Saturday night.***
79.James White NE at SEA
80.Kareem Hunt CLE vs. CIN
81.*Nyheim Hines IND vs. MIN
Note: Scored twice and was already active in the offense before Marlon Mack's injury. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a 40 percent snap share with Mack out.
82.*Adrian Peterson DET at GB
Note: Peterson was the Lions' most effective back and even had three catches.
83.Sony Michel NE at SEA
84.Russell Gage ATL at DAL
85.*Jerry Jeudy DEN at PIT
Note: Jeudy showed his upside as well as his rookie jitters, fumbling once and dropping two passes along with four catches for 56 yards.
86.Preston Williams MIA vs. BUF
87.*Mike Williams LAC vs. KC
Note: (Shoulder) Not only played but was very active in the Chargers' passing game, as they attempted to avoid William Jackson III in coverage. Full participant in Wednesday's practice and feels 'more explosive' after recovering from last year's knee injury.
88.*Jarvis Landry CLE vs. CIN
Note: (Hip) Listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's practice. Here's your reminder that the Browns host the Bengals on Thursday. Landry is expected to suit up Thursday night, thus I'm bumping him up.
89.*N'Keal Harry NE at SEA
Note: (Shoulder) Limited practice on Wednesday. ***Listed as questionable but is expected to play.***
90.*Hunter Henry LAC vs. KC
Note: Caught five passes on eight targets for 73 yards.
91.*Evan Engram NYG at CHI
Note: Rough start with a clear deep and another ball that he might have been able to come up with, catching just two balls for nine yards.
92.*Jonnu Smith TEN vs. JAX
Note: Should get more targets with A.J. Brown hampered, at best.
93.*Jared Cook NO at LV
Note: Could be a big beneficiary of Michael Thomas's absence.
94.Mike Gesicki MIA vs. BUF
95.*Logan Thomas WAS at ARI
Note: Led the Football Team in targets, with four catches on eight targets for 37 yards and a touchdown.
96.*Antonio Gibson WAS at ARI
Note: Got 11 touches, but Peyton Barber got more work, along with the goal line carries.
97.*Cam Akers LA at PHI
Note: Started and had 14 carries, but played only 24 snaps and eventually played less than Malcolm Brown, who looked the part.
98.*David Montgomery CHI vs. NYG
Note: Looked pretty good (13 carries, 64 yards), though it's a clear time share with he and Cohen, with Cordarelle Patterson also present to steal some touches.
99.*Frank Gore NYJ vs.
100.*Diontae Johnson PIT vs. DEN
Note: (Toe) Sat out practice Wednesday, but practiced in full on Thursday.

Kickers

1.Justin Tucker BAL at HOU
2.Harrison Butker KC at LAC
3.Wil Lutz NO at LV
4.Greg Zuerlein DAL vs. ATL
5.Robbie Gould SF at NYJ
6.*Younghoe Koo ATL at DAL
Note: Converted another onside kick attempt. Just have to work on those extra points a little more.
7.Dan Bailey MIN at IND
8.Chris Boswell PIT vs. DEN
9.Jason Myers SEA vs. NE
10.*Josh Lambo JAC at TEN
Note: Drilled kicks from 46 and 50 yards.
11.Mason Crosby GB vs. DET
12.Brandon McManus DEN at PIT
13.Jake Elliott PHI vs. LAR
14.Michael Badgley LAC vs. KC
15.Zane Gonzalez ARZ vs. WAS
16.Ka'imi Fairbairn HOU vs. BAL
17.Ryan Succop TB vs. CAR
18.Daniel Carlson LV vs. NO
19.Matt Prater DET at GB
20.*Joey Slye CAR at TB
Note: Missed extra point was critical - the Panthers couldn't attempt a field goal to tie late in the game, and also cost me a push in Staff Picks at +3.
21.*Rodrigo Blankenship IND vs. MIN
Note: Missed from 30 yards, made two others.
22.*Tyler Bass BUF at MIA
Note: Missed his first two kicks, made his final two.
23.*Sam Sloman LA at PHI
Note: Missed a 29-yard attempt but made his next two kicks.
24.*Randy Bullock CIN at CLE
Note: Bizarre miss to end the Week 1 loss - missing from 31 yards, the first time he had ever missed inside 37 yards. He came up with a calf cramp during the kick, but put in a full practice Tuesday. The Bengals claimed Austin Seibert off waivers from the Browns as insurance in case Bullock can't go Thursday. Cleared to kick on Thursday - Seibert is inactive.
25.Graham Gano NYG at CHI
26.Jason Sanders MIA vs. BUF
27.Sam Ficken NYJ vs. SF
28.Dustin Hopkins WAS at ARI
29.*Cody Parkey CLE vs. CIN
Note: Promoted to the Browns' active roster, replacing Austin Seibert.
30.*Stephen Gostkowski TEN vs. JAX
Note: Nightmare game that ended with a game-winning kick.
31.*Nick Folk NE at SEA
Note: Officially signed to the Pats' 53-man roster.
32.*Cairo Santos CHI vs. NYG
Note: Temporarily sent back to the practice squad, but is expected to be activated again to kick for the Bears for Week 2. Back on the active roster.
33.*Austin Seibert CIN at CLE
Note: Waived by the Browns, picked up as insurance by the Bengals. Inactive on Thursday.
34.*Eddy Pineiro CHI vs. NYG
Note: (Groin) Set to miss another week.

Defenses

1.Buffalo Bills at MIA
2.Pittsburgh Steelers vs. DEN
3.*San Francisco 49ers at NYJ
Note: Sam Darnold and company must be a sight for sore eyes for the Niners after facing Kyler Murray last week.
4.*Los Angeles Rams at PHI
Note: Aaron Donald and the Rams' DL gave Dak Prescott all sorts of troubles last week, now they get to attack the Eagles' Swiss Cheese OL.
5.Baltimore Ravens at HOU
6.Chicago Bears vs. NYG
7.Tennessee Titans vs. JAX
8.Arizona Cardinals vs. WAS
9.Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. CAR
10.Cincinnati Bengals at CLE
11.Kansas City Chiefs at LAC
12.Cleveland Browns vs. CIN
13.New Orleans Saints at LV
14.New England Patriots at SEA
15.Denver Broncos at PIT
16.Green Bay Packers vs. DET
17.Seattle Seahawks vs. NE
18.*Washington Football Team at ARI
Note: Having to chase around Kyler Murray won't be fun, but sometimes that means more sacks, something that the Football Team was quite proficient at last week.
19.Indianapolis Colts vs. MIN
20.New York Giants at CHI
21.Philadelphia Eagles vs. LAR
22.Los Angeles Chargers vs. KC
23.Detroit Lions at GB
24.Miami Dolphins vs. BUF
25.Dallas Cowboys vs. ATL
26.Jacksonville Jaguars at TEN
27.Las Vegas Raiders vs. NO
28.*Minnesota Vikings at IND
Note: The Vikings' defense might be legitimately terrible this year.
29.New York Jets vs. SF
30.Carolina Panthers at TB
31.Houston Texans vs. BAL
32.Atlanta Falcons at DAL
