2023 Fantasy Outlook
Diggs has earned Pro Bowl honors in all three of his full seasons with the Seahawks. The Texas product recorded a combined 14 interceptions and 24 pass breakups in that stretch. The 30-year-old safety has two years left on his contract and could be a cut candidate next season if his game falls off, but there's no indication of that in the near future. His fantasy value is heavily dependent on his ball-hawking abilities, however, as he has averaged just 4.5 tackles per game during his Seattle tenure. Read Past Outlooks

The Seahawks are slated to release Diggs, Brady Henderson of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Henderson, Seattle is also in line to part ways with Jamal Adams, leaving the team with a void at safety in advance of NFL free agency. Diggs -- a three-time Pro Bowler -- is coming off a 2023 regular season in which he recorded a career-high 95 tackles as well as an interception over the course of 17 games with the Seahawks.

The Seahawks acquired Diggs via trade from the Lions in October 2019, and he's been a regular in Seattle's defense in the meantime. His most productive season as a pro came last year, when he turned a 96.9 percent snap share into 94 tackles and five interceptions in 17 games. Unfortunately for Diggs, he suffered a dislocated ankle and broken fibula Week 18, from which he remains in recovery mode. However, it didn't stop the Seahawks from inking their starting free safety to a three-year, $40 million contract back in March.
In his first full season with the Seahawks in 2020, Diggs generated 64 tackles, 10 pass defenses and a team-high five interceptions. The 28-year-old once again will start at free safety in the last year of his contract. Diggs doesn't maintain the tackling numbers to be a consistent IDP, but he's instrumental to a secondary that's littered with question marks.
The Seahawks got some major bang for their buck by sending a fifth-round pick to Detroit to acquire Diggs, who recorded 21 tackles and three interceptions, taking one back for a touchdown, over five regular-season contests. The 27-year-old will continue to start, but now he'll have All-Pro safety Jamal Adams by his side in 2020, but the IDP upside is low outside of his ball-hawk abilities.
Diggs parlayed a strong end to the 2017 season -- one that saw him record three picks in his first five games at strong safety -- into a hot start to the 2018 campaign, one in which he picked off Sam Darnold for a touchdown on the opening play of the first game of the season. He continued to make difference-making plays throughout the course of the year and didn't let his play slip at any point, ultimately finishing the season with three interceptions and a career-high 78 tackles over 16 games. While Detroit will need to ask even more out of Diggs in the team's first season without Glover Quin in the secondary, the 25-year-old appears fit for the task and could use the opportunity to reach the 80-tackle mark Quin surpassed in 2017.
Coming off a 2017 campaign in which he graded out as Pro Football Focus's fourth-rated nickel corner in the game, Diggs figures to again see quite a bit of playing time in 2018. Add in the fact that he can fill in at safety - Diggs notched three picks in five weeks while filling in for an injured Tavon Wilson last season - and the Texas product also possesses a high fantasy upside should anything happen to the 28-year-old Wilson this season.
Diggs assumed the Lions’ full-time nickel cornerback job midway through last season, and projects to keep that role heading into 2016. Notably, Pro Football Focus graded Diggs as the seventh-best cornerback across the final eight games of 2015 as quarterbacks finished with just a 78.3 passer rating when targeting Diggs’ man. Entering his second season, Diggs should possess a deeper understanding of DC Teryl Austin’s defense than he had as a rookie, which could very well translate into increased statistical production.
Despite not being drafted until the sixth round of this year's draft, Diggs received first-team reps as the team's slot corner in training camp, a position that was a weak point for the Lions in 2014. He should factor in in nickel and dime situations. In four seasons at Texas, Diggs picked off 11 passes with 43 passes defended and 151 tackles.
