Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2017
Anderson has always been considered more of an athlete than a football player during his two seasons in Houston, but a 25-342-1 haul (and 13.7 YPC) isn't bad for someone who wasn't even drafted back in 2016. At 6-2, 230, he's one of the smallest tight ends in the league, and he doesn't quite have the elite speed you'd like to see from an undersized player, having run a 4.63 40 at his Cal pro day. Anderson at least seems to have a higher ceiling than likely starter Ryan Griffin, so if the team flips the players on the depth chart or Griffin gets hurt again, be ready to pounce on Anderson in deeper formats.
As an undrafted free agent out California in 2016, Anderson earned a spot on the roster as the third tight end. He profiles more as a hybrid that can line up away from the line of scrimmage and hopefully create mismatches. The challenge for Anderson is if he can block consistently enough for a team that figures to run the ball more often than it passes. That the Texans re-signed Ryan Griffin suggests Anderson will remain the team's third tight end.
