Works out with Houston
CBFree Agent
October 25, 2019
Williams worked out with the Texans on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
It appears the Texans are doing a full remodeling of their cornerback corps, as they traded for Gareon Conley from Oakland, kicked the tires on Denver's Chris Harris and are now working out Williams. Williams was let go by the Cardinals on Wednesday after working in a special teams role with Arizona, but he logged some starting time with the Chargers in 2018 and is thus expected to latch on as a depth option somewhere before long.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
A third consecutive season-ending injury to Jason Verrett (Achilles) sets the stage for Trevor Williams to return as the No. 2 cornerback opposite Casey Hayward, a role he performed admirably in 2017 in which he recorded 56 tackles, two interceptions and 13 pass deflections. Given the prowess of his All-Pro teammate, Williams will likely continue to draw the attention of the opposing team’s offense, but alongside a deep and talented secondary the 24-year-old should have no trouble reprising his success from last season.
