2018 Receiving Projections
2018 Fantasy Outlook
A 2017 third-rounder out of Alabama, Stewart wasn't able to work his way onto the field much as a rookie, topping 14 snaps just once after Week 1. He's well behind Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, Terrelle Pryor and Quincy Enunwa on the wide receiver depth chart, though it's worth noting that Anderson could be suspended for off-the-field issues and Enunwa is coming off a neck injury that kept him out for the entire 2017 campaign. The Jets also drafted wideout Chad Hansen one round after Stewart in 2017, and the Crimson Tide product is facing a two-game suspension to start the season. Read Past Outlooks

Waived by Redskins
Stewart was waived by the Redskins on Tuesday, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Stewart's departure from Washington comes just over a week after he signed a futures contract with the team. The second-year receiver didn't see the field once in 2018 after playing in 15 games for the Jets a year ago. He'll look to bounce back and catch on with another team in 2019.

The Georgia Bulldogs lost two underclassman wideouts to the 2019 draft in Riley Ridley (brother of Calvin) and Mecole Hardman, both of whom may prove polarizing for NFL decision makers and dynasty owners alike.

Eric Ebron put forth an improbable but dominant showing against the Jaguars on Sunday as Indianapolis' third TE. Is this enough to earn him a promotion?

Juan Carlos Blanco helps you wade through the Week 1 injury report, which also includes several prominent absences due to suspensions and one very publicized holdout.

Jeff Zimmerman analyzes which metrics from the NFL Combine portend success for wide receivers. Tuns out, bigger is better. What's that mean for Panthers rookie D.J. Moore?
2017 Fantasy Outlook
Taken in the third round, Stewart has a chance for targets right away, as the Jets parted ways with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker in the offseason, and then lost Quincy Enunwa to a season-ending neck injury in August. The team also is thin at tight end, and Robby Anderson (78 targets) is the only incumbent receiver with any experience of note. At 6-1, 204, and with 4.49 speed and a 124-inch broad jump, Stewart has average size, speed and athleticism, but he's a strong route runner who could operate out of the slot. Of course, the Jets quarterback play -- no matter who wins the job -- is likely to be among the NFL's worst, something that's not especially conducive to a promising debut for a rookie receiver. It also doesn't help that Stewart was unavailable at the start of training camp while recovering from June surgeries on his thumb and groin.
