2020 Fantasy Outlook
A fourth-round pick in 2017, Gallman has hung around as Saquon Barkley's primary backup, but with Dion Lewis in the fold, he's now third string. As such, Gallman will rarely see action so long as Barkley is healthy. Should Barkley go down, Gallman would split carries with Lewis, but Lewis would be on the field for most passing downs. Drops back to No. 3 role
RBNew York Giants
September 22, 2020
Gallman is slated to be the No. 3 RB after the Giants signed Devonta Freeman on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Gallman's fantasy outlook was brighter for a moment following news that Saquon Barkley (torn ACL) was done for the season, but the addition of Freeman likely means he'll be the third option in the backfield. Freeman will likely be the clear lead back eventually, and incumbent Dion Lewis is a better pass catcher than Gallman, whose upside is limited as a result.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2018
2017
Gallman predictably had a modest role in 2018 behind all-world running back Saquon Barkley, with only 51 carries and 14 catches. Gallman's efficiency was poor on those chances - only 3.5 yards per carry and 6.4 yards per reception with one TD on the year. At 6-0, 210 and with 4.60 speed, Gallman is just an average athlete, and this year he'll have to hold off newly-acquired Rod Smith to keep his backup job.
Gallman had a solid rookie year (4.3 YPC, 34 catches), especially given the poor play of the team's offensive line. But any hopes for a larger role were dashed when the team drafted uber prospect Saquon Barkley, who should see a massive workload. Gallman will battle recently-signed Jonathan Stewart for the scraps, though if Barkley were to get hurt, there's upside here, given the upgrade to the offensive line and overall system.
Taken in the fourth round, Gallman has a chance to carve out a role should starter Paul Perkins falter or get hurt. Only Shane Vereen and Shaun Draughn are ahead of Gallman on the depth chart, and Vereen is more of a third-down type and Draughn a journeyman vying to make the club. At 6-0, 215, Gallman is fairly stout, though he lacks breakaway speed.
