Dylan Cantrell
Dylan Cantrell
24-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Los Angeles Chargers
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Cantrell certainly has the prototypical size (6-3, 226 pounds) and enough speed to help fill in for Tyrell Williams, who signed a massive deal with the Raiders in the offseason. The 24-year-old spent his rookie season on the practice squad, but likely would have been on the roster bubble if not for a bone bruise suffered during training camp. Reportedly healthy entering 2019, Cantrell could push Travis Benjamin for the team's WR3 role. Even if Cantrell were to win the job, his upside would be limited by the continued presence of fellow wideouts Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as well as the return to health of promising tight end Hunter Henry. ANALYSIS
The Chargers haven't signed a replacement for Tyrell Williams (Raiders) and could still release Travis Benjamin to free up $5.25 million in cap space. Even if Benjamin does stick around, there's no guarantee he operates as the No. 3 receiver, with Cantrell, Geremy Davis and Artavis Scott all capable of pushing for the role. Cantrell was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad after suffering a bone bruise in his right knee during training camp. The 226-pound Texas Tech product finished top three among wideouts at the 2018 NFL Combine in the three-cone drill, short shuttle, long shuttle, broad jump and long jump, but his 40-yard dash (4.59 seconds) and middling college production (1,873 receiving yards in 40 games) are far less encouraging.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
A sixth-round pick by the Chargers in the 2018 NFL Draft, Cantrell has been one of the standouts throughout earlier portions of OTAs and training camp. Measuring in at 6-foot-3 and 212 pounds, Cantrell has the size to be a matchup nightmare in the red zone so long as he can stay healthy. A bone bruise is expected to keep the 24-year-old on the sidelines for an extended time which could affect his chances at making the final 53-man roster.
