Jacobs (groin) ran the 40-yard dash Tuesday at Alabama's second Pro Day, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
Jacobs, looking fully healthy, improved his time from the 4.6-second range to somewhere between 4.52 and 4.56 on Tuesday. This comes after his impressive showing at Alabama's first Pro Day last month after which scouts told Gil Brandt of that the 220-pound running back had "cemented" his first-round grade for April's draft. While Jacobs clearly has his fans in the NFL, a college backup with mediocre workout numbers does not traditionally project as a first-round pick.

Jacobs (groin) said he's about "85 percent" right now but should be ready to compete at Alabama's Pro Day on March 19, Alex Byington of the Montgomery Advertiser reports. "I can obviously run on it ... but I feel like if I run and do bad, it'll hurt me more than if I was just to take my time and wait (until the Pro Day)," Jacobs explained.
