Johnson was cut by the Bills on Tuesday, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson was signed to Buffalo's practice squad in October of the 2022 campaign, but the wideout did not appear in any games. The 26-year-old has not played a regular-season game since 2020, when he appeared in eight games with the Cardinals. Johnson was unable to secure a reserve role in the Bills' receiver corps ahead of the 2023 season.

Could see more work with Kirk hurt
WRArizona Cardinals
October 1, 2019
Johnson could see an uptick in playing time and/or targets if Christian Kirk (ankle) misses time.
ANALYSIS
In Arizona's Air Raid system, Johnson has carved out at least a complementary most weeks, seeing 10 targets in Week 1 and chipping in after that. In Week 4, he was on the field for 57.1 percent of the offensive snaps with Damiere Byrd (hamstring) out. If Kirk has to be inactive, Johnson could have a solidified role for the near future. While this may not guarantee he'll be anything more than a flex piece for fantasy lineups, it'd be a reason to pick him up off the waiver wire in many deeper leagues.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2019
Since the Cardinals made Johnson a 2019 sixth-round pick, he's been in and out of the lineup, with only two of his 14 DNPs the result of an injury or ailment (he missed two games last season due to a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list). When on the field, Johnson has averaged a measly 10 YPC and 5.5 YPT on his 65 career targets. In the offseason, Arizona's receiving corps lost Larry Fitzgerald to his likely retirement, but the long-time Card was replaced by A.J. Green and 2021 second-rounder Rondale More, who join DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk to create a top quartet. Johnson likely will compete for the No. 5 spot on the depth chart, at best, with Andy Isabella.
The Cardinals selected three wide receivers in the 2019 draft, including Andy Isabella in the second round, Hakeem Butler in the fourth and Johnson in the sixth. As fate would have it, Johnson ended up the big winner in terms of playing time, but all 10 of his showings occurred before the team's Week 12 bye. The likely root cause was a lack of efficiency. Targeted 42 times, he gathered in exactly 50 percent of them at 4.5 YPT and scored one touchdown. Johnson's search for snaps took another hit when Arizona made a trade for DeAndre Hopkins, who joins Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald at the top of the depth chart. As a result, there may not be regular snaps available for the aforementioned second-year wideouts or Trent Sherfield in 2020.
The first selection of the sixth round and Arizona's third wide receiver pick of the 2019 draft, Johnson is more skilled than he is physically talented, as at 6-1, 201 he tested well below average as an athlete (4.6 40, 30-inch vertical, 11.5 agility score). It's the technical aspects of playing receiver that led Arizona to target him anyway, as Johnson's route-running polish led him to total 172 catches for 2,353 yards and 16 touchdowns on 273 targets over the last two years. As much as Andy Isabella and Hakeem Butler have far better athletic talent to work with, Johnson might be the most game-ready of the three right now. In an Arizona offense that figures to lead the league in wide receiver snaps, Johnson is worth monitoring in deeper PPR leagues.
