Martino failed to make the final roster out of training camp last summer, but he caught on with the Bucs' practice squad until early November. After one more release, Martino returned for good Nov. 17, remaining on the active roster from Week 10 onward. Martino ultimately logged five receptions on six targets for 96 yards over eight games, while also playing 114 snaps on special teams. Martino ultimately beat out Bernard Reedy for the No. 6 receiver spot to open the 2018 season after snaring two receptions on five targets for 38 yards over four preseason games.
After logging eight receptions on 14 targets for 95 yards in the preseason, Martino sandwiched a pair of practice squad stints around a brief stay on the active roster before being promoted for good on Oct. 22. He proceeded to log at least one reception in six of the remaining nine games of the season, finishing with 11 receptions for 142 yards and one touchdown. It took a slew of injuries at the receiver position for Martino to finally see his first taste of meaningful regular-season action, however, and with the Bucs having re-stocked the receiver shelf in impressive fashion in the offseason, he figures to be in a battle to make the final roster.
Like fellow wideout Bernard Reedy, Martino is a 24-year-old former Atlanta Falcon that has history with head coach Dirk Koetter. The North Greenville product has yet to record a reception in a regular-season game, but flashed consistently during OTAs after signing with the Bucs in May. Martino's biggest hurdle is the plethora of competition he faces for a receiver spot, and he is unlikely to have any fantasy relevance this season even if he manages to survive final cuts.
Martino will provide depth at wide receiver for the Eagles.
Martino has a steep hill to climb if he wants to earn a spot as a receiver on the 53-man roster. Special teams or the practice squad are both better bets.
