DraftKings NHL: Saturday Playoff Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Playoff Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Martin Jones, SJ at VGK ($7,000): Before the Game 1 disaster, Jones owned a .931 save percentage through 30 postseason contests, which was the third-highest mark in NHL history. Vegas overwhelmed San Jose in the series opener, but this salary cut is probably too much of an overreaction. Jones offers contest-winning upside and the savings needed to stack the rest of your lineup.

CENTER

Patrice Bergeron, BOS at TB ($7,200): A three-point showing in Game 7 against Toronto proved Bergeron's health, and he's also now had two days off to rest for Round 2. He's collected eight points through six playoff contests and has also been on the ice for the most goals per 60 minutes (6.53) of all Bruins.

Steven Stamkos, TB vs. BOS ($6,800): This is a manageable price for Stamkos. The first-line center found the scoresheet in all five game of Round 1, and there's also positive regression ahead for his 8.3 percent shooting. Boston struggled to slow down Toronto's skill players in Round 1, and Tuukka Rask finished the series with an .899 save percentage.

WING

Nikita Kucherov, TB vs. BOS ($7,600): The Russian piled up five goals, five assists and three multi-point showings through five games in Round 1. It was a fitting follow-up to his monster regular season, and Kucherov and Stamkos make a solid stack after connecting for 7.44 goals per 60 minutes against New Jersey.

David Pastrnak, BOS at TB ($7,100): While it was a boom-or-bust opening series against Toronto, Pastrnak finished with 13 points and 27 shots despite missing the scoresheet entirely in three of the seven games. It's typically wise to aim for more consistency from high-priced skaters, but in a shallow player pool, chasing upside is more of a priority.

Kevin Labanc, SJ at VGK ($3,300): The sophomore has been on the ice for the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (30.78) of any Shark, so at this salary, Labanc is worth a look. He's also averaged 4:47 of power-play time through five playoff contests and both his assists during the postseason have come with the man advantage.

DEFENSE

Mikhail Sergachev, TB vs. BOS ($3,800): The rookie plays limited and sheltered minutes, but they're all offensively tilted. He quarterbacks the No. 2 power-play unit and began 70.2 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the offensive zone. Sergachev collected two points and 11 shots in Round 1, and he also led the Lightning in offensive-zone starts per 60 minutes (41.29).

Matt Grzelcyk, BOS at TB ($3,000): A low-priced flier who also doesn't receive big minutes, Grezelcyk is a slick defenseman who contributes to driving possession. There should be a lot of back-and-forth action in this game, so Grzelcyk has potential to approach value even if he doesn't find the scoresheet.
