FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Even excluding the 1:30 PM ET game between the Wild and Flames, you will have plenty of options for your daily fantasy hockey lineup Saturday. There are nine games on the evening slate, and here are my recommendations for players to consider.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM vs. ANA ($8,400): Bobrovsky has experienced a down season, but he looked great in his last start as he beat the Kings. Sure, the Kings have scored the fewest goals per game, but the Ducks have been marginally better. Anaheim has only managed 2.55 goals per contest, and they've also averaged a league-low 27.0 shots on net per game.

CENTER

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. PHI ($5,500): Horvat is overshadowed by flashy rookie Elias Pettersson, but he's having an impressive season in his own right. The 23-year-old has notched 29 points in 34 games, including eight on the power play. On that front, the Flyers have the league's worst penalty kill, and will be on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

Phillip Danault, MON vs. OTT ($5,000): Danault has only potted two goals, but his 3.7 shooting percentage marks the lowest of his career. He has tallied 15 assists, so it's not like he hasn't been involved. The Senators own the league's highest GAA, while giving up the most shots per game per contest. They will also be on the road for the second day of a back-to-back, which could easily help Danault on the puck luck front.

WING

Anders Lee, NYI vs. DET ($6,600): Lee is doing just fine sans John Tavares, with 11 goals and 11 assists along with 84 shots in 30 games. Now he's facing a Red Wings team that will be – you guessed it – on the road for the second game of a back-to-back. Detroit has allowed 34.1 shots on net per contest, and will likely be starting Jonathan Bernier in net. That's the same Bernier who sports a 3.66 GAA and .884 save percentage.

Sam Reinhart, BUF at WAS ($5,700): Reinhart is reaping the benefits of starting on a line with Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner. He's been especially hot recently, currently riding an eight-game point streak. The Capitals started Braden Holtby on Friday, which could mean Pheonix Copley in net. Copley, for his part, comes in with a 2.95 GAA and .902 save percentage.

Ryan Hartman, NAS vs. NJD ($3,500): Hartman is now skating on Nashville's top line, which bodes well for him. Perhaps it's paying off, as he's struck for four goals on 25 shots over his last 10 outings. I know I'm a broken record at this point, but the Devils are yet another team on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. New Jersey saved Keith Kinkaid for this game, but there's no need to worry as the starter has struggled to a 4.12 GAA and .874 save percentage over his last seven starts.

DEFENSE

Jeff Petry, MON vs. OTT ($4,600): If you were worried that Shea Weber's return would slow down Petry, those concerns have been dashed. Over his last five games, Petry has racked up five goals, two assists, and 21 shots on net. As previously noted, the Senators have the league's worst GAA, and are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

Alexander Edler, VAN vs. PHI ($4,600): Since returning from injury, Edler has registered five points in nine games, including two on the power play. This comes after he totaled 34 points – including 15 with the extra man – in 70 games last season. In addition to owning the league's worst penalty kill, the Flyers have the league's worst save percentage. So no matter who is in net, it shouldn't deter you from selecting Edler.
