FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Happy Valentine's Day! You may have plans, but so does the NHL. There are 11 games on the docket for Thursday. Here are some player recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup that I hope you'll love.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM vs. NYI ($8,500): Bobrovsky has had a mixed campaign, but he has won his last four starts, and in his last game he pitched a shutout. Though the Islanders are having a good year, that's mostly due to their defense and goaltending. Offensively, they've only averaged 2.68 goals and 26.6 shots on net per contest.

CENTER

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. OTT ($7,200): If the Wings were having a better season, Larkin would probably be getting a lot more attention. He's already set a personal best with 24 goals, and he's only played in 56 games. There's strong reason to believe that Larkin can add to his point total in this one, as the Senators have a staggering 4.35 road GAA, highest in the NHL.

Dylan Strome, CHI vs. NJD ($5,800): This isn't about some desire to recommend two centers named Dylan. Strome has a five-game point streak, and in his has 10 contests he's tallied 17 points. Given that the Devils have a 3.93 road GAA, don't be surprised if Strome continues streaking.

WING

Kyle Palmieri, NJD at CHI ($6,000): Palmieri has 24 goals in 56 games, but I'm more interested in his power-play performance. He's played 3:21 per game with the extra man, notching 16 points with the numbers advantage. Why am I singling that out? Because the Blackhawks have the league's worst penalty kill.

Tyler Toffoli, LOS vs. VAN ($6,000): The Kings have languished offensively all year, but Toffoli is breaking free of his shackles. Like Dylan Strome, he has a five-game point streak. The Canucks are the lone team Wednesday on the second night of a back-to-back, and Marek Mazenec is primed to get his first start since the 2015-16 season.

Thomas Vanek, DET vs. OTT ($4,300): Who wouldn't want more than one Red Wing, given Ottawa's 4.35 road GAA? Vanek has started 70.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, which unsurprisingly leads the team. It's paid off for Detroit recently, as the Austrian has a point in nine of his last 11 contests.

DEFENSE

T.J. Brodie, CGY at FLA ($4,700): Brodie isn't on Mark Giordano's level, even if they usually pair together, but he's had some impressive performances recently. In his last 12 games he's had six multi-point nights. Now he faces a Panthers team with a 3.43 GAA, third highest in the NHL.

Josh Morrissey, WPG vs. COL ($4,400): With five points in his last seven games, Morrissey now has 31 points in 54 contests. That includes 10 points with the extra man, though his power-play minutes have been inconsistent. However, the defenseman won't need power-play time to succeed against an Avalanche team with a 3.34 GAA and .893 save percentage.
