FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

SLATE PREVIEW

Monday's trade deadline was jam-packed. Metropolitan Division teams seemed to make more of a splash than anyone, but some notable Western Conference moves came to fruition, including Robin Lehner's trade to Vegas. One especially important aspect to keep in mind is when players are traded across the border, as visa issues can make them ineligible to play right away.

Notable players who may be held up by these concerns Tuesday include Mike Green, Vladislav Namestnikov, Andreas Athanasiou, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Ilya Kovalchuk and Erik Gustafsson. All could end up playing, but make sure to check back before the games start to ensure you don't roll out anyone who's sitting.

GOALIES

Carter Hart ($8,400) picked up where he left off after returning from injury, recording a 4-1-0 record and a 2.02 GAA. He's set up for a good matchup as well. The Sharks sent away their acting No. 1 center in Barclay Goodrow, and they were already ranked 27th during this month with 2.14 GF/60 at even strength, per Natural Stat Trick.

Darcy Kuemper ($7,500) is expected to be back for Tuesday's game after a one-game AHL conditioning stint. He was a Vezina front runner before getting hurt, and the Panthers come to town with 2.02 xGF/60 in February -- 28th in the league.

The Devils and Red Wings rank 30th and 31st, respectively, in xGF/60 in February. Both teams stockpiled picks and prospects ahead of the trade deadline, but they sent away major offensive contributors in the process. As a result, MacKenzie Blackwood ($7,800) and Jonathan Bernier ($7,300) are both solid, contrarian plays at a low-cost.

VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS

Kevin Fiala ($5,400) has earned himself a spot on the top line with 12 points (seven goals, five assists) and 43 shots on net over the last 10 games. He recorded six of those points with the man advantage as well, and he'll get a prime opportunity against Columbus, whose penalty kill ranks last over the last two weeks with 21.88 GA/60.

Adam Henrique ($4,100) has registered 10 points (six goals, four assists) over the last eight games, and his shot volume remains high. The team's rebuilding, but there are enough assets around him to keep him viable, especially against Edmonton's struggling defense.

Blake Coleman ($4,300) has yet to break through with the Lightning, but the opportunities are there with a second-line role and possible power-play minutes. The latter is especially important, as the Maple Leafs rank 28th in February with 9.64 GA/60 on the penalty kill.

FORWARD LINE STACKS

Boston Bruins (TOTAL: $25,100)

C - Patrice Bergeron ($8,000)
W - David Pastrnak ($9,200)
W - Brad Marchand ($7,900)

The Bruins brought in a couple of new forwards at the trade deadline, but we know this line will be sticking together. It's just too productive. They've combined for 32 points over the past eight games, and they'll look to capitalize against the Flames' struggling defense, which ranks last since the All-Star break with 3.57 GA/60 at even strength.

Arizona Coyotes (TOTAL: $17,800)

C - Christian Dvorak ($5,200)
W - Taylor Hall ($7,400)
W - Conor Garland ($4,600)

The Coyotes trade acquisition came in February when they acquired Hall, who has five points over the last six games. The most intriguing player, however, is Garland, who is coming off a four-point night Saturday and leads the team with 22 goals. Sergei Bobrovsky has been up and down lately, too, recording a .900 save percentage in 2020.

St. Louis Blues (TOTAL: $15,800)

C - Robert Thomas ($4,400)
W - David Perron ($6,400)
W - Zach Sanford ($5,000)

This low-cost stack could pay dividends for fantasy gamers, as the Blackhawks have struggled defensively lately and just sent their best goalie to the desert. This unit has only played a couple of games together, but they've looked solid. Thomas' speed drives the line, but both Sanford and Perron have wicked wristers, and they'll leverage that into high-end production

DEFENSEMEN

Roman Josi ($6,400) hasn't notched a point in four straight games, but he's fired 16 shots on net in that stretch. That solid floor keeps him fantasy viable even if he doesn't come through, and Ottawa's putrid defense is the only thing standing in his way.

Shea Weber ($5,100) only has one point -- a goal -- since returning from injury, but he fired 11 shots on net and blocked nine shots in that stretch. The veteran blueliner will have a good chance to ink the point column in this contest because the Canucks rank 26th during this month with 8.4 GA/60 on the penalty kill.

The Capitals have allowed at least three goals in five straight games, so roll out Neal Pionk ($4,800). The young blueliner has stacked up nine points -- six on the power play -- in as many games,
