Khovanov has agreed to terms on a one-year deal in the KHL, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
After coming up in the AK Bars Kazan youth system, Khonanov spent the last three years playing in the QMJHL with Moncton. The 20-year-old center is coming off a career season in which he racked up 32 goals and 99 points in 51 appearances. Selected by the Wild in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft, the club reportedly expects him to still link up with Minnesota during the 2020-21 campaign after the KHL season ends.
