Murzakanov (arm) is scheduled to fight Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Paris on Sept. 2, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Fortunately for Murzakanov, currently ranked No. 11 in the UFC's light heavyweight rankings, his arm has healed in time to fight at the UFC's next European event outside of England. Oezdemir, who previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in 2018, is 1-3 across his last four fights. This bad run of form gives Murzakanov a prime opportunity to surpass his next opponent, currently No. 8, in the division's rankings.

April 17, 2023
Murzakanov suffered a broken arm during his win Saturday at UFC on ESPN 44, according to MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Murzakanov revealed that he broke his left arm not long after dropping Dustin Jacoby late in the second round of their fight Saturday. The 34-year-old's injury would explain why he slowed down after winning Rounds 1 and 2 of his latest matchup. Because of the injured arm, there is a possibility Murzakanov needs much time to recover.

Murzakanov defeated Dustin Jacoby via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
It was both a brilliant and highly concerning performance from Murzakanov. The good news is that he dominated Jacoby the first ten minutes. He fought confidently and showed plenty of power, in addition to the ability to manage distance against a much bigger opponent. The bad news is that Murzakanov, who consistently faded as the fight progressed, nearly gave it all back in Round 3 due to his poor gas tank. He ultimately survived, but the poor finish is absolutely something to monitor moving forward. You can't defeat the best in the world if you can only fight for ten minutes. In the meantime, though, Murzakanov improves to 3-0 with the UFC.
