Edwards was released from his UFC contract Thursday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edwards was a product of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, but failed to record a win in his first two UFC fights. He had a low energy level in his loss to Dennis Bermudez via unanimous decision in January, and he will now need to look elsewhere to continue his MMA career.

Edwards lost to Dennis Bermudez via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Edwards got off to a quick start before things caved in on him late in Round 1. His gas tank quickly began to evaporate and Bermudez took control of the fight. Most concerning of all was Edwards's poor body language. He looked tired and defeated and he didn't work to get back into the bout. A product of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, Edwards is now officially 0-2 in the UFC. A release is possible here.

Edwards lost to Don Madge via TKO (head kick) at 0:14 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
ANALYSIS
Edwards ate a knockdown early in this fight. He recovered and scored a takedown. However, he continued to struggle from the top. He could not land strikes and nearly tapped to an armbar. In the second round, Madge came across the cage and landed a pair of head kicks that put him out. Edwards dropped his UFC debut and falls to 6-2 overall.
Taking on Madge in UFC debut

Edwards will make his UFC debut at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27 against Don Madge, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Edwards impressed on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series in June with a 28-second KO, awarding him a contract with UFC. He'll get to take on Madge, another UFC rookie, in his inaugural fight. Madge has four inches on Edwards in terms of height, though Edwards has a bit more success as a pro fighter, having only lost once compared to Madge's three defeats in the Extreme Fighting Championships.
Earns UFC contract with fastest KO on Contender Series

June 27, 2018
Edwards earned a UFC contract with a victory over Austin Tweedy via KO (punch) at 0:28 of Round 1 on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series.
ANALYSIS
On a night with five total stoppages, Edwards stood out enough to earn a contract by collecting the quickest finish of the evening. He only seemed to absorb one significant strike -- a leg kick -- before landing the overhand right that ended the fight. Edwards lost his second professional fight all the way back in 2014, but owns a strong 6-1 record with six KO/TKO victories to his name. He briefly appeared in Bellator with a win at Bellator 148, but has otherwise bounced around promotions. Standing at 5-foot-8, it might be tough sledding for Edwards in the 155-pound division, though he does possess a 72-inch reach. A move to featherweight may need to be in the cards for the 27-year-old.
