TKO win in return from long layoff
WelterweightUFC
April 23, 2022
Khandozhko defeated Dwight Grant via TKO (punches) at 4:15 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was widely expected to be one of the most competitive fights on the entire card and it turned out to be just that. Both men scored knockdowns in the opening round, with Khandozhko starting quickly and Grant responding. The latter appeared to tire as the fight progressed, leaving the younger Khandozhko with the opportunity to scored a second knockdown late in Round 2 which eventually resulted in the end of the fight. The back-and-forth affair earned both men $50,000 Fight of the Night bonuses. Although Khandozhko is just 29 years of age, this was a key victory for him considering he had been on the sidelines for more than 2.5 years. The Russian has been a member of the UFC roster since June 2019, but has fought just three times for the company, alternating wins and losses during that span.
