In your classic striker versus grappler matchup, Krantz's three successful takedowns and three passes weren't enough to earn the victory on the judge's scorecards. He may very well have a legitimate beef, but the issue for Krantz was the fact he landed just 13 total strikes in Round 3 compared to 41 from Song, and that was enough to put his opponent over the top. Fighters who lose their first two bouts with the company aren't always entitled at a third kick at the can, but Krantz was competitive enough on Saturday to likely earn another opportunity.

He did manage to briefly take Luque's back as well but was unable to do anything with his positional advantage. His willingness to accept this bout guarantees he will get another shot with the company.
