Rohskopf was released from the UFC on Wednesday, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old lightweight was a highly-touted prospect but was let go after just one fight, that being a short-notice loss to Austin Hubbard. In that particular loss, Roshskopf refused to come out for the the third round despite the scorecards potentially being knotted 1-1, which gave this fight quite a bit of national attention and resulted in controversy regarding how his cornermen handled the situation. Rohskopf will continue fighting outside the UFC and maybe one day can get back if he can put together another run on the regional circuits.

Quickly fades in UFC debut

Rohskopf lost to Austin Hubbard via TKO (doctor's stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a concerning effort on multiple fronts for Rohskopf in his UFC debut. He looked excellent in Round 1 on the strength of his grappling but quickly gassed out in Round 2. His striking defense was atrocious, and Rohskopf looked the part of a fighter who accepted this bout about ten days ago. His corner was giving him a pep talk in between Rounds 2 and 3, but Rohskopf informed referee Mark Smith he could no longer continue. The fight was clearly trending in the wrong direction for the newcomer, but it was a surprising decision given the fact the bout was almost certainly tied at a round apiece. Rohskopf won't turn 26 years of age until September, but he appeared in over his head on Saturday. It's possible, but not guaranteed, the UFC takes another look at what Rohskopf can bring to the table with a full fight camp.
Making UFC debut vs. Hubbard

June 15, 2020
Rohskopf (5-0-0) was added to the card for Saturday's UFC of ESPN 11 event at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, John Morgan and Nolan King of USA Today report. He'll be taking on Austin Hubbard (11-4-0) in a lightweight fight.
ANALYSIS
Rohskopf will be making his UFC debut as a short-notice replacement for Joe Solecki, who withdrew from the matchup with Hubbard a couple days earlier due to an unspecified matter. A standout college wrestler at North Carolina State, Rohskopf began his MMA career in 2018 and most recently fought under the Titan FC banner earlier in 2020.
