Set to return to Octagon
Diaz is scheduled to face Robbie Lawler in a welterweight fight Sept. 25 at UFC 266 in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Diaz announced in February of 2018 that he wouldn't fight again unless given "an offer (he) couldn't refuse." Rumblings began last fall that Diaz was considering a return to the UFC, however, and he's now picked up an offer that will end his six-year fighting layoff. In Lawler, he'll be opposing someone who is coming off four consecutive losses. The two squared off over 17 years ago in a fight that ended with Diaz knocking Lawler out in the second round.

According to his manager (via the Helwani report), Diaz recently completed a 14-week training regimen that included diet changes in an effort to perform a "test" weight cut. Diaz apparently now weighs in the 165-70-pound range after positive results and "100 percent" plans on a return to MMA. The name alone will bring any fight the 37-year-old elects to compete in plenty of viewers and will be a win for the UFC regardless of outcome.

All charges dropped
Diaz has been cleared of of multiple felony charges by a Las Vegas judge, Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com reports.
