Fight with Aldana rescheduled
July 22, 2020
Holm's fight scheduled for Aug. 1 against Irene Aldana has been rescheduled for later in the year, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
UFC President Dana White made the announcement that the main event for Aug. 1 will be pushed back to a later date after Aldana tested positive for COVID-19. A three-round matchup between Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan will be the new main event for the Aug. 1 card, and Holm's new fight date has yet to be determined.

Headlining vs. Aldana
June 8, 2020
Holm is scheduled to fight Irene Aldana in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on August 1, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
Holm is coming off an uneventful win over Raquel Pennington via unanimous decision in January, but she's alternated wins and losses over her last six contests. She'll now be tasked with overcoming Aldana, who has won five of her own last six matches. Holm will secede one inch of height advantage upon entering the Octagon, but her reach extends beyond Aldana's by another single inch. While Holm wasn't necessarily competitive in her loss to Amanda Nunes back in July, she needs a win here to prove she's still among the division's elite and avoid indefinite gatekeeper status. Early oddsmakers list her as a slight betting underdog of roughly (+100).
Earns win in UFC 246 snooze fest
January 18, 2020
Holm defeated Raquel Pennington via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 246 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
A rematch of a February 2015 fight between these two women, Holm once again emerged victorious and once again saw her stock take a hit as a result. Unlike the first bout where Holm was lucky to earn the decision, Holly clearly won this one. That being said, Holm (and Pennington) did nothing offensively throughout the course of the fight. Holm's entire offensive game plan consisted of pinning Pennington up against the cage in a clinch position. Holly told Joe Rogan in her post-fight interview that she still believes she can reclaim a UFC Championship but that's plenty difficult to believe after seeing this performance. Pennington is a weak opponent and Holm slept walked to a victory. Holly isn't improving at age 38. She has alternated wins and losses in her past six fights.
Rematch date set
December 2, 2019
Holm (hamstring) is set to square up against Raquel Pennington at UFC 246 in Las Vegas on Jan. 18, Mike Bohn of mmajunkie.com reports.
January's match will be Holm's first time stepping into the ring since her title fight loss to Amanda Nunes back in March. Holm has found another match to prove that she's still up there with the best-of-the-best. Her and Pennington last fought in February of 2015 and ended the match in a split-decision win in favor of Pennington. Coming off a torn hamstring, there were some doubts as to whether Holm would be ready enough to take on such a major fight but the 38-year-old insisted that she did and will look to get her name back on the UFC map with a win.
Discloses torn hamstring
September 29, 2019
Holm disclosed via her personal Instagram account that she suffered a torn hamstring but will not require surgery.
The reason for Holm's withdrawal from UFC 243 was initially undisclosed, but in the video she shared, the former champion said that she tore roughly 30 percent of her hamstring during training last week. Holm said surgery won't be needed, but with just one week until her scheduled fight against Raquel Pennington, it simply wouldn't be enough time to recover. Based on her tone, it seems as if she intends to have the rematch rescheduled. Prior to the cancellation, Holm had been listed as a (-195) betting favorite.
Withdraws from UFC 243
September 27, 2019
Holm has withdrawn from UFC 243 due to an undisclosed injury, Ariel Helwani of ESPN.com reports.
Holm was looking forward to taking on Raquel Pennington in Melbourne, the scene of her 2015 victory over Ronda Rousey. It was a rematch of the bout at UFC 184 where Holm came out with the win. The lack of clarity on what injury she is dealing with leaves her recovery timeline unclear at this time. It is also not known if Pennington will get a new opponent.
