September 14, 2023
Casey accepted a four-month USADA sanction after testing positive for a banned substance, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Casey used BPC-157 prescribed by her personal doctor but self-reported upon learning it was a banned substance. Casey's period of ineligibility began on June 1, meaning her USADA sanction will be over by the beginning of October. By then, Casey can begin scheduling for fights, of which she has not participated in since dropping a split decision to Antonina Shevchenko at UFC on ESPN 39 more than one year ago.

It's unclear why Casey has been removed from the event, and there's no date for her next fight. She owns a 10-10-0 record as a pro fighter and has not entered the octagon since July 9, when she suffered a defeat against Antonina Shevchenko by a split decision.

Drops another split decision
FlyweightUFC
July 9, 2022
Casey lost to Antonina Shevchenko via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 39 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The queen of the split decision loss, this was Casey's fourth setback of that variety among her nine UFC defeats. As has been the case in the majority of the other ones, Casey may have very well deserved the win here. Round 3 appeared to be the only clear frame and that went in the favor of Casey. The first ten minutes were very closely contested, although all three judges gave Round 1 to Shevchenko in what appeared to be a coin flip. Casey turned 35 years of age in May and her 6-9 career record with the UFC is nothing to write home about, but she's competitive each and every time she steps inside the Octagon, and that gives her value to a company which holds an event most every week, even if Casey's ceiling is quite low.

Casey (hand) is expected to square off against Antonina Shevchenko at a UFC event on April 30, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Casey will be returning from a medical suspension sustained following her victory over Liana Jojua via unanimous decision this past November. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak.
