Fined after missing weight
Carvalho missed weight by half a pound Friday ahead of Saturday's match against Lyoto Machida, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The match will proceed as scheduled, with Carvalho forced to surrender 20 percent of his total purse. The former middleweight champion will welcome a Bellator newcomer in the 40-year-old Machida, who switched promotions after a long and successful run with the UFC which began back in 2007.

Booked against Lyoto Machida
Carvalho will welcome Lyoto Machida to Bellator with a Dec. 15 matchup in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Carvalho's improbable run as middleweight champion was abruptly put to an end in his last fight, when former UFC fighter Gegard Mousasi finished him via strikes. That snapped a 15-fight winning streak filled with multiple upsets, but Carvalho will now be awarded an exceptional opportunity on the promotion's debut card in Hawaii. He'll get a highly-recognizable name in Machida, who had competed under the UFC banner since 2007 and is surely headed for the hall-of-fame one day. Carvalho has a two-inch height advantage, but more importantly, is eight years younger than "The Dragon."

Drops title in the first round at Bellator 200
Carvalho lost to Gegard Mousasi via TKO (punches) at 3:35 of Round 1 at Bellator 200 on Friday in London.
ANALYSIS
Carvalho was never really expected to become the Bellator middleweight champion. He was an underdog in his first three fights with the promotion, but he won all three and in the process claimed the title. However, his run of success came to an end here against Mousasi. He struggled to get any of his offense going. Mousasi eventually closed the distance, cut through his guard and finished him with strikes. Carvalho has proved that he is a quality middleweight, but Mousasi was by far the best fighter he had faced. It showed tonight.

Will defend crown against Gegard Mousasi
Carvalho is set to defend his Bellator middleweight title against Gegard Mousasi in London this May, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Carvalho is Bellator's current longest-reiging champion and is tied for the record for most title defenses in the division's history. He won the title in October 2015 by defeating Brandon Halsey, defended it twice against Melvin Manhoef and once more against Alessia Sakara. He owns a 15-1 career record, not having lost since his debut fight against Julio Cesar Araujo Fernandes back in December 2011. His challenger, Mousasi, owns a 43-6-2 career record, most recently defeating former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Schlemko by unanimous decision in October.

Silences the crowd with knockout of hometown favorite Alessio Sakara
Carvalho defeated Alessio Sakara via KO (elbow) at 0:44 of Round 1 at Bellator 190 on Saturday in Florence, Italy.
ANALYSIS
Carvalho's unexpected middleweight title reign is starting to produce some highlight reel finishes. In his last fight, he stopped veteran kickboxer Melvin Manhoef in the fourth round with a brutal kick. In this fight, he need less than a minute to stop Sakara with an elbow. There is not much to say about this fight other than the fact that Carvalho has big power and is learning how to use it. This fight sets up his next title defense against former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi. Carvalho has obviously improved, but most would concede that he will be an underdog against Mousasi.
