Inconsistent ways continue
Sanders lost to Felipe Colares via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Sanders has been the furthest thing from the picture of consistency throughout his UFC run, but this was arguably his worst performance to date. Sanders had this one locked up following a strong Round 1, but his cardio completely betrayed him and allowed Colares to steal the fight. There's no denying Sanders' toughness. He also has some power. Unfortunately for the 35-year-old Tennessee native, neither are enough to overcome his poor conditioning and dreadful submission defense. Sanders is 2-5 in his past seven fight dating back to March 2017.

Fighting Colares instead
Sanders will now be fighting Felipe Colares on the UFC's May 1 card after each of their opponents for the event have been forced out of their fights, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Sanders was originally supposed to be fighting Damon Jackson and Colares was supposed to face Journey Newson at UFC Fight Night 190 on May 1, but both Newson and Jackson were ruled out of their respective fights and so the UFC decided to pair up Sanders with Colares instead. Sanders has struggled lately, losing four of his last six bouts, but his new opponent is facing some struggles of his own, as he's lost two of three to begin his UFC career. Both fighters will be looking to impress as UFC contracts could be on the line for the potential loser.

Sanders lost to Nathan Maness via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:29 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 18 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The two offered up some violent exchanges in Round 1, but Sanders had the numbers, landing some big combinations in the final 30 seconds to take the round. To his detriment perhaps, Sanders was willing to engage in more fast-paced exchanges, but didn't quite pay enough attention to his defense. He ate a straight right hand that sent him to the canvas, and Maness pounced, taking his back and securing the choke. After falling as a (-150) favorite, Sanders has now alternated wins and losses in his last five fights.

Slated to return in November
Sanders (undisclosed) is slated to fight Nathan Maness in a bantamweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for Nov. 28, Nolan King of USA Today reports.

He was slated to fight at the beginning of August, but he was forced to withdraw for an undisclosed reason. Maness made his UFC debut in early August, defeating Johnny Munoz via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 31. Maness has advantages in both height and reach.
