Gonzalez showed shades of effective striking in the first round, but Miller countered by going to the takedown. Gonzalez was able to get back to his feet after the first takedown attempt, but Miller was ultimately able to take his back and secure the fight-ending choke. As soon as this fight turned into anything other than an all-out brawl, Gonzalez was finished. He did his best (and only) work when Gillespie foolishly engaged him in striking exchanges. Shortly afterwards Gillespie focused on takedowns and the fight was over. Gonzalez earned his first UFC win his last time out against J.C. Cottrell, but he now finds himself staring at a 1-2 record with the company. There's nothing to see here moving forward.

Gonzalez now has a UFC win under his belt, but he offers no long-term potential.
