Race Preview

Austin Cindric extended his run of wins last week in Texas, capturing his third victory in a row after being shut out of Victory Lane up until that point. The win came after the checkered flag following Kyle Busch's disqualification, however. Cindric is now second in the playoff standings and is only 24 points behind points leader Chase Briscoe who has five wins so far in 2020. Six drivers have guaranteed their places in the championship battle, and only eight races remain for the final six spots to be finalized. Brandon Jones won at Kansas last season to score his first victory in the series and is the only driver entered in Saturday's race with a previous win at the track.

Kansas is another 1.5-mile tri-oval, which is similar in configuration to Kentucky and Las Vegas. Briscoe and Cindric won at those venues this season, but Kansas is a little different. The fast speedway has more room for racing in the turns than some other circuits, and drivers have a bit more flexibility to find a groove that works for their cars. As a fuel run extends, the drivers will tend to move higher up the banking and closer to the wall to maximize corner speed and momentum at corner exit onto the straights. Tire wear shouldn't be as much of a factor as some other tracks on the schedule, and two-tire stops could be an option for teams looking to gain track position on restarts.

Chase Briscoe has two Kansas Xfinity starts. He led 33 laps and finished third last year. He starts sixth on Saturday and should be a confident selection for fantasy players this weekend. Harrison Burton will start Saturday's race fifth. He crashed out of last year's Kansas race but already has two wins this season and finished fourth last week at Texas. Daniel Hemric has a top-10 starting position for this week's race to go with his average finish of 10.0 from two races at the track. He led 128 laps last year from pole. Bayley Currey was forced to retire from last year's Kansas trip with suspension trouble but will be looking for a fifth top-20 finish this season from the 27th starting position. Josh Williams finished 24th and 21st in his two Kansas series starts and will start 24th on Saturday, too. Williams should be capable of a top-20 finish on Saturday to match his 15th-place finish at Kentucky and 13th-place finish at Las Vegas. Miller has an average finish of 26.0 from two Kansas starts, which should translate into positive finish differential points for fantasy players.

Austin Cindric is the Xfinity series driver on the best run of results right now, and fantasy players choosing him for this week's race will pay a premium as a result. He has three consecutive wins and will start fourth for Saturday's race. Justin Allgaier might only be winless this year because of luck. He has been in contention many times but has been shut out of Victory Lane each week so far. He will start 11th this week and finished fifth in this race last season. Defending Kansas winner Brandon Jones will start on the front row for this race and is coming off of a seventh-place finish last week in Texas. Ryan Sieg has three top-10s from seven Kansas starts and will need consistent top-15 finishes to ensure he remains in the playoff picture. Deeper in Saturday's starting lineup are Joe Graf Jr. and Matt Mills. The pair should be capable of adding finish differential points to fantasy rosters, which will help support having drivers like Cindric leading the selections.
