Rolex 24 Entry
IMSA
January 10, 2022
Proton Competition will field a total of three WeatherTech-sponsored cars in GTD Pro at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with the addition of a second Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. WeatherTech, in association with Montana-based dealership Mercedes of Billings, will sponsor the No. 15 entry to be driven by Mueller, Patrick Assenheimer and Austin Cindric, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The GT Pro class for the Rolex 24 just continues to grow. Proton and WeatherTech are teaming up to field a third entry in that class with this No. 15 Mercedes. Mueller is a veteran of many seasons of sportscar racing in North America. He'll be teamed with the talented duo of Assenheimer and Cindric behind the wheel of team's AMG GT3. They should have a slugger's chance of winning GT Pro honors in the Rolex 24 in what is becoming a very deep field.
