Nothing accentuated the possibility of rotation more than Pep Guardiola deciding to rest Sergio Aguero and John Stones against Bournemouth completely, while Kyle Walker was an unused substitute, David Silva got 13 minutes off the bench and Riyad Mahrez came on in the 87th. And, of course, after sitting out their midweek Champions League match due to injuries, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan scored two of Man City's three goals against the Cherries, leaving one goal for Raheem Sterling, one assist for Leroy Sane and a blank for Gabriel Jesus. One would suspect Aguero, Stones, Walker, Silva and maybe Mahrez to start Tuesday away to Watford, but there's just no reason to be completely sure about it. It's just ridiculous how all of these guys can rotate and they continue to get on the scoresheet. Here's a breakdown of the main attackers and whether or not they've gotten a goal or an assist in each Premier League or Champions League match this season:
Up next for Man City is the trip to Watford and then a big match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Oh, and they have a Champions League match against Hoffenheim the following Wednesday (as a reminder, you can see the congested holiday fixture lists for all teams here). Rotation will continue, but these guys get on the scoresheet so much that we should just accept when they don't start and move on.
Man City have the highest win odds for the gameweek, but we still have excellent matchups like Liverpool away to Burnley, Tottenham hosting Southampton at Wembley, Everton at home to Newcastle and Bournemouth against Huddersfield at the Vitality Stadium to hopefully fill out our fantasy points when our hand-picked Man City attackers are rested.
