T'Wolves Host Pelicans on Wednesday
The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at Target Center on Wednesday.

The Pelicans (6-22) come into this matchup losing 13-straight games which is simply an inexcusable stretch from a roster this talented. Many people actually had this team pegged to make the playoffs before the season tipped-off but that is nearly impossible at this point. While it's easy to blame the Zion Williamson injury as the main reason for the struggles, that's simply not the case. There are still plenty of capable players on this roster and it's crazy to see them near the bottom of the Western Conference standings. What makes it even more bizarre is the fact that Brandon Ingram is having a breakout season, carrying this team seemingly every single night. That means some more moves may be around the corner because something needs to change.

The Timberwolves (10-15) have a lengthy losing streak of their own, carrying a seven-game skid into this matchup. This is yet another team where it's hard to understand the ineptitude, with players like Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jeff Teague running the show. That's too many good players to have a losing streak like this and it's clear that the 28th-ranked defense is a major reason why. That's been an ugly trend for this team for years now and one has to wonder if it's because of personnel or because of the culture. In any case, this franchise could be in for some big moves too if things don't turn around rather quickly.

Minnesota has dominated this series over recent years, winning six of their last eight games over New Orleans.
