Nets Edge Celtics, 112-107
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Boston Celtics, 112-107, at Barclays Center on Friday afternoon.

The Nets (10-9) were looking for a bit of redemption and hoping to make a statement against one of the elite in their division in the Celtics (13-5), which had just toppled them Wednesday night. Brooklyn got off to an excellent start in that regard, establishing a 31-24 lead through one quarter before seeing Boston whittle down that advantage to four points by halftime. After the home squad managed to extend the edge back out to seven in the third, their 13-4 run during the first half of the final period helped establish more separation, and misses by Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown in one sequence during the final six seconds sealed the victory for the Nets.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 26 points, adding nine rebounds and four steals. Walker provided 17 points, six assists and five rebounds. Smart followed with 15 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Brad Wanamaker paced the bench with 11 points, eight boards, three assists and one block. Enes Kanter contributed 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block.

Spencer Dinwiddie paced the Nets with 32 points, supplementing them with 11 assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Taurean Prince delivered 16 points, four boards and one assist. Jarrett Allen generated a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double that also included one assist, one steal and one block. Joe Harris and Garrett Temple pitched in matching 12-point efforts, with Harris adding six rebounds, four assists and two steals and Temple dishing out seven dimes and pulling down five boards.

The Celtics remain in the Big Apple and tangle with the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon, while the Nets will remain at home and tangle with the Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon.
