Raptors Defeat Warriors in Game 1, 118-109
The Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Golden State Warriors, 118-109, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday.

It's rare to see the Warriors corralled throughout a game but that was the case here. A 29-21 first quarter really set the tone, as the Raptors led for all but a few minutes. In fact, Toronto led by at least three points for the entirety of the second half. The key for the Raptors was their shooting, as they shot 51 percent from the field while holding the Warriors to under 44 percent. Turnovers were critical as well, with Toronto winning that battle, 16-10. In addition, the Raptors won the fastbreak points differential, 24-17, and the points in the paint battle, 40-32.

The Warriors (0-1) were led by Stephen Curry, as he tallied 34 points, five rebounds and five assists. Klay Thompson amassed 21 points and five rebounds. Draymond Green picked up another triple-double, accumulating 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Andre Iguodala generated six points, six rebounds and seven assists.

The Raptors (1-0) were led by Pascal Siakam, as he collected 32 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks on 14-of-17 from the field. Kawhi Leonard finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Marc Gasol totaled 20 points, seven boards and two steals while Fred VanVleet led the bench with 15 points and two assists. Kyle Lowry accrued seven points, six rebounds and nine assists.

Game 2 will be played in Toronto on Sunday.
