Trail Blazers Host Warriors on Monday
The Portland Trail Blazers play host to the Golden State Warriors at Moda Center on Monday.

The Warriors (10-34) had an uphill battle when they lost Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins in the offseason but no one could have antiquated this. Klay Thompson's ACL tear in last year's playoffs was the start of the fast-approaching injury bug, as it hasn't stopped since then. Stephen Curry broke his hand in the opening week and Kevon Looney hasn't been able to shake off a nerve issue in his leg. All of those moves have left this roster completely dismantled, with numerous random youngsters playing huge roles. The good news is that it's getting these guys ready for when the Splash Brothers return. Guys like Damion Lee and Eric Paschall have shown some serious growth this year and that's going to be a beautiful pairing when all of these guys are back and fully healthy. With all that said, Golden State snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Orlando Magic in their most recent outing and they'll look to carry over that momentum here.

The Trail Blazers (18-26) just traded away Kent Bazemore for Trevor Ariza on Saturday. While that's a pretty neutral move in terms of personnel, it has opened up some cap space. That has people wondering if another move is right around the corner, with Portland continually playing below expectations. After finishing third in the Western Conference in each of the last two years, they now find themselves in a deep hole in terms of even making the postseason this year. What's going to make that even more difficult is the fact that C.J. McCollum sprained his ankle over the weekend. That's a guy they simply can't lose and it's going to be all about Damian Lillard in his absence.

These teams have traded off wins and losses in seven-straight meetings. Prior to that, the Warriors won seven of their previous eight games over the Trail Blazers.
